  • Morning …hope you all had a great weekend …mine was very nice, great weather, hung with some good friends and spent a lot of time outside…weekends go by so fast and before you know it here I am back in this cubicle for another 5 days straight …

I did my weigh in and I was back to 205 …funny how I was 3 lbs up that whole week and then my body just went back into fat burning mode and all of it was back off , probably mostly water weight anyhow …

I started my TOM today so I know this week will be a nightmare with cravings and up some weight ...not looking forward to that

    Welcome CajunChik !!!!

    Carri
  • Sue- it did just FLY through the 30s, but given my body just kinda froze in the low 40s for about 6 months it OWED me lol :P

It also helps probably exercise has been on point for the last 4 or 5 weeks for the first time in a year or more. I have my trainer 1-2 times per week (scheduled twice but he is a single dad so things happen!) One of my friends at work and I are making it a point to either walk for an hour or swim for an hour together 2-3 times per week. And I have been trying to get in and do the elliptical once or twice a week as well.

It has probably been helping with my stress as well as torch those extra calories.

class hasn't caused much stress yet, we just finished the review sections and started the first chapter we are going to work on. That chapter is just functions i.e. f(x)= 3x^2+6x+9, find f(6) -- this is still pretty much review for me. It has been a couple years but I find the algebra stuff super simple. Once you add geometry based math in I am in tears though! My friend is the exact opposite and she is taking college algebra over the 1st summer session (5 weeks! yikes!) so we have been having LOTS of study/tutoring sections!

Lulu! where are you!!!!! get back in here girl!!!

Carri - sounds like a GREAT weekend! the body is tricky tricky! but if you started your period, once it is over you may be even lower!!! just be careful with those cravings! What do you normally crave? if it is sweets have you tried any mug cake recipes? A girl I follow on tumblr raves over this one

    25g butter
    15g flaxseed
    15g dark cocoa powder
    1 egg
    2g granulated sweetener

Mix up in a cup & microwave for 30 seconds, mix it & leave, eat half raw because food never tasted so good.

but I know there are also protein powder based ones too.

I have a ton of keto friendly recipies tagged on my tumblr, sweet and savory, you can look through just the recipie posts here:

    http://pnkrckpixikat.tumblr.com/tagged/keto%20recipes

Most of the stuff I have yet to try, but what I have is pretty darn good

  • Thanks Pixi - yes it's sweets and chocolate I crave...thanks for the ideas
  • Another good trick I forget about is chop a quest bar into chunks and microwave it for 10-20 seconds, it tastes like baked goods. The chocolate chip cookie dough is the best I think.

Of course IDK if they are easily available where you live so may not help a sudden craving. GNC usually has ok prices on them

  • SUE! You ROCK!!!!

I'm so PROUD of your huge, 100 pound accomplishment!

  • One thing I've learned from several years on diet forums is that absence from such a forum is invariably a bad sign...

So my feeble presence last week was no exception, I stumbled 2 weekends ago, somewhat recovered during the week, and then fell, HARD this past weekend.

I was eating total crap, industrial ice cream, whipped cream direct from a can, huge portions of baguette with butter, croissants, desserts, you name it.

The scale went over 190 on Sunday, and my eating was even more out of control Sunday than on Saturday. I didn't weigh in yesterday, so I'll never know exactly how bad it got...

But I did get myself back on track yesterday (Monday) - carefully controlled my eating all day, knew I'd be hungry & cranky for a few days and just accepted it. I was happy to see that Sue had started a one-week induction challenge, right when I need it.

And the scale is back in the 180s today. I've given up my hopes of reaching 179 by the end of the month and am being more pragmatic now - get my weight to the lower part of the 180s, and then hold all summer in the 180s.

And I'm going back to daily weighing (I missed several days last week and I think it was part of why I lost focus).

Glad I had this group to come back to - I know you all understand.
  • SARAH... LOLOLOLOL I love the banner post! I thank you!!!! and shoot.. I know exactly what you are saying! When I have had my slip ups and wanted to fade away into the night... You and Calee (WHERE IS SHE??!!), Pixi, Lulu and others kept encouraging me to continue and just keep posting. It really does work! I am looking forward to watching the short term weight gain MELT off of you!!!

Pixikat! SOOOOo Glad that the 30's were a good decade.. yep.. Short and Sweet!.. Now the ROARING 20's are just right there at your doorstep I am glad that everything has just clicked in for you... and that recipe... any idea of tsp, tbsp etc?? I am not good about conversions LOL Yeah and I LOVE math too...

  • I'm here. Don't think I miss a word of what's said. I have my son Zach home for 10 days. Eating Primal. More bigger salads, a bit of berries so higher carb. Definitely more event eating with different friends that want to see him. We have a friend flying in for the weekend. She has a film in the festival as well. Lots to celebrate. I am keeping up my work and exercise routine.

I will definitely be back on Atkins 72 next week!

Keep up the good work everyone!
