25 lbs gone!

  • I just wanted to celebrate with y'all my losing 25 lbs for the first time in my life. I still have 52 to go but I'm well in my way.

I started on January 20 so I just started my 3rd month of healthy eating. I count calories, eliminated sugar and carbs as much as possible, and do a high protein diet (I follow the model of IP but I'm not really doing IP). Additionally I walk, jog for 1 mile on the treadmill occasionally, and do daily squats (I know it sounds random but if you saw how sad my butt looks, you'd know why I do squats hahaha!).

I went from being XL (almost XXL), to L; and in terms of my pants, I went from my last pair of pants being size 16 (fitting loosely), to a 12+. I'm in between sizes with everything.

In any case... I'm feeling very pumped to keep working and keep going. I haven't been this weight since 2007, after I had my first daughter. Phew, it's been a while.

    I'm on fire!

  • Congratulations!!!! Keep up the awesome work.
  • Way to go! :-)
  • Awesome!!
  • Excellent work!
  • Thank you all!

I'm very excited about this and pumped to keep going.
  • Yahooooo!! Totally Awesome!!! with your continue efforts!!
  • Good job!
  • Congratulations!!!!
  • Congrats!
  • I finally summoned up enough courage to write here. I'm 32, 166cm and currently I weigh 110 kilos (roughly 242 lbs) which means I am now in the obese zone (not morbidly obese anymore). That means a lot to me.

I started my new regime on the 24th of January at 267 lbs. First, I went for long walks and maintained a deficit of 1300 calories per day. My weight loss program VidaOne suggested I choose less deficit, but I had big dreams - to reach my goal of 68 kilos (150 lbs) one month before my birthday in November. Now I readjusted the plan - perhaps to reach the goal by December or January next year. Anyway, I'm in no hurry.

Currently I am very active, I spend almost 3 hours per day on a bike (these outings are more or less easy routes on a plain, almost no slopes, 25-35 kms). I eat around 2000 calories, on days without workout 1300.

I weigh myself everyday but on the days around my period weight fluctuates so wildly that it made me reconsider weighing only once per week.
  • Hello all - This is a restart for me. I put on more than 25 lbs. since last fall and decided enough was enough, dealt with some personal issues, and restarted as of March 06/14.
My restart weight was 242.6 and today am down 27 lbs - in just over a month!! As if that wasn't motivation enough to keep going, my one-size-smaller pants are getting too big, and I no longer have pain in my knees.

I think it is good to keep the big picture in mind, but to aim for smaller, more attainable goals - good luck to all, and keep going!

    Next goal - ONEDERLAND!!
  • Congratulations to all three of you, a lot accomplished in a very short time. Keep it up!

    Take care.
  • Yayy!! Keep it up!!
  • Awesome!
Congrats on your weight loss!! Its been more than 10 years since my weight loss and it still feels great! After I lost my weight, I've helped multiple people lose 100+ lbs and that feels just as good!!
