walleye help

  • I was wondering how to cook walleye on phase 1?
  • Poaching fish is always a good bet. I think walleye would poach up nicely.
  • I just like to bake or broil my fish with a bunch of cracked pepper, salt, and other IP friendly seasonings. Sometimes I'll use lemon on it, not always though.
  • Thanks for the ideas.....I will try tonight....

  • I just tried steaming fish for the first time, and it was fantastic. I used cod - never tried walleye so cannot compare.

My Asian friend told me how and gave me this little stand that you put in the bottom of a large pot and then add water (keep water under level of stand). As the water comes to a boil, season fish with ginger, onion, lemon pepper, etc. based on your personal taste. Once water is boiling place plate of fish on top of stand and cover the pot. Let steam for five minutes per inch thickness. Once it's done, drizzle with any other oils/seasonings you like (e.g. soy sauce and sesame oil) and sprinkle with scallions and/or cilantro.

It was so moist and delicious. I usually oven fry my fish, but this is my new go-to method since I can't have the bread crumbs.

Poaching is placing the fish in a mixture of liquid, herbs, and something acidic and letting it cook that way. Google is impressive for finding things out! http://www.tablespoon.com/posts/how-...4-bd50d862369b

Sounds like your interest in cooking is about as deep as mine.
