    Congrats Jasmine! That is outstanding!
  • Quote: Starting my second week on Phase 3 and I must say... I find fitting all that food in at breaky is hard for me. I don't want to use the ready made phase 3 drink/shakes for that meal though. Waaaay too expensive and I would rather eat 'real' food. I kinda have to lick peanut butter off a spoon just to get my fat in at breakfast and I don't even want my fruit unless I stick berries in my cereal which works OK. Looking forward to phase 4 Maintenance YAAAAY! I actually lost a pound (and another inch) while I was away on my trip to a family wedding even though you usually gain a couple refilling your glycogen tanks when starting phase 3. My body just seems to do better with more food. I've been on the alternate plan ever since 1/2 way through phase 1 and I lose better and feel better on it too. Only 1 more pound and I will be back at my model weight - just bought size 2 skinny stretch jeans yesterday - it's feels good to be back.

OHHHHKAAAY... I should have known, now on to beginning phase 4 maint. and I have gained 3 pounds (refilling the glycogen tanks) in my last week of phase 3. One good thing though, I didn't gain any inches in my lower body, just 1/2 inch on my chest. I call it my chest now, since I no longer have boobs HAHAHA (went from a 34 D to a B+ or C- depending how you look at it)

That's OK, I'm eating well - here's an example from myfitnesspal journal:

Congrats on the losses - you're doing great!
  • Thank you eandc2006. I just weighed myself today and im officially a 5lb looser too woooohhooo! I have to be honest, i was a little iffy on this diet before i started.. my doctor advised me not to do this and said that once i was off this, i would end up gaining EVERYTHING back. Well now i am not iffy any more -- i dislike when people tell you.. YOU cant do something, so im showing her it CAN be done!
  • I don't want to start a new thread, but I have been off IP since October and starting over, so I guess I am "new."
I was on IP for 6 weeks in Sept/Oct and lost 15 pounds. For various reasons I decided to stop and since then, over the holidays ate anything I wanted and gained back exactly 15 pounds. I have been trying since New Years to get back on the diet, but yesterday was my first day. Yesterday I actually fasted 24 hours and only ate some eggs and a shake last night, so my appetite would get under control. To be honest, I hate dieting, I don't like IP but I need to lose 30 pounds the fastest way possible, so here I am. I know for many the losses are slower the second time around, hopefully not slow enough to discourage my resolve. Oh, and this time I am doing it without a coach and some IP products until I run out, but also using cheaper alternatives.

I don't think any of us are fond of dieting
A saying has been going around here lately:

Being overweight (or in my case, morbidly obese) is hard
    Losing weight is hard
    Maintenance is hard
    Pick your hard
  • Planning on starting next week!
I have my aptmt for the conference and consultation next Tuesday! Anxiously excited is the best way to describe it. Yes, I have been reading the newbie section. But any preparatory advice/ purchases before starting?
  • Just started my 2nd week on Tuesday, lost 9lbs the first week. This week is much easier as I am trying lots of the recipes I've found here and other website. Ideally I would like to lose 100lbs, but I'll start with 50 and go from there.

Jillybee - if you can, start cutting down your carbs now - it will make the "ketosis flu" a lot easier on you. If you drink a lot of pop/coffee start cutting down on those too.

I couldn't live without my immersion blender, bullet blender and a bunch of measuring cups and a food scale. Especially the food scale!

Look for no sugar added spices you'll like - amazing how many spices add sugar. You want the stuff that has 0/0/0 - no carbs, no sugars, no fats.

Congrats on getting started - this is a great program and once you've got the basics down it's actually pretty easy to follow!

Yeah for losing 9 pounds, that is awesome! I'm with you, I love the recipe threads - I've cut and pasted into a folder so many recipes I may never get them all done!

You might try non-food rewards for smaller losses - you know, "If I lose 5 pounds I'll buy this book I've wanted for a long time" and stuff like that. Kind of breaks it into smaller, more achievable chunks. Some people do jewelery. Some of mine have been kind of silly - when I weigh less than my husband I'll resize my wedding band kind of stuff.

I know when I started the thought of even weighing less than 200 seemed so daunting and unachievable! But pound by pound it all added up and it's been a great journey!
  • First Post!
Hey ya'll! On Monday I will be going to my week 3 weigh in! I started at 202, lost 9# the first week, and 4.8# the second. I can tell a difference in my clothes and my face, but I am still nervous that I'm only going to loose a pound or two this week. I think the "small" numbers make it harder to stay dedicated. Even though those small numbers are STILL a step in the right direction. I'm excited to have a group of people who are going through the same stuff
  • Hi wildirishrose and congrats on the great losses so far! And even if the scale is down 1 or 2 pounds that is reason to celebrate! There are no "only" statements that should precede the scale going down!

Make sure you are tracking your measurements too - some weeks you will have great scale losses and no inches lost and some will be lots of inches and no scale loss. It all evens out. Some weeks you'll have no losses either way - your body needs a chance to catch up sometimes. Don't get discouraged, just hang in there, stay OP and the weight will go!
  • Newbie
    Hi I'm new

I was searching for ways to stay on track. It's going on week three and so far ok. I'm learning to practice using other vegetables.
I've lost about nine lbs and some inches. I weigh in tomorrow so here it goes

  • I'd like to encourage all newcomers to jump in on the daily chat where everyone can get to know you. The first post has tons of links for ideas if how to keep IP from getting boring. It is a great plan and works fast!
    Welcome!
