  • Quote: shrinkingsusie, congrats on getting thru your party with success! I have one next weekend and I hope I do as well as you did.
Same here! DH's work holiday party is tonight and not knowing what they will have in terms of food (it's being catered) it's hard to plan. Since I am vegetarian, I'm not counting on them having tofu, although I will be presently surprised if they do! I'll hopefully be able to get some veggies and then have a packet when I get home.
  • How do you make rhutabaga fries?
  • Quote: Last night I made rutabaga fries for dinner. It was the first time i've ever purchase one. In fact, I didn't even know what a rutabaga looked like. Anyway, Oh My Gosh I'm in love. I felt like I was cheating. I could eat them in place of a french fry forever.
I never tried fries. I will next time though. I usually make soup out of them. For Thanksgiving I made the pudding recipe and it was delicious.
  • What is evoo, have looked on different threads in IP and have not been able to figure it out or find what it stands for.

Did some of the vegetable purees to day and rhubarb jello- my daughter who is 14 eats the rhubarb to. Have really tried to make her a better eater then I am. Time will tell, but so far is way better eater then I was at that age.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a la Rachael Ray!
  • Quote: Jemma,

    How did you make them?
You inspired me to use the rutabaga that's been sitting in my fridge for weeks. The fries were actually pretty tasty and I will definitely make them again!

Wow, I will have to try that! I have eaten it mashed with EVOO, salt, and pepper a few times and I adore it! Too bad it is an occasional vegetable...

I hope you got something you could eat!

Happy Sunday night, all! On my way back from Manhattan from a bus trip. It was soooo cold, but awesome to see the snow by the big Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. Not sure what to expect when we get back to the baltimore area. I know some school systems have already delayed or closed for tomorrow. I would love a snow day, but DD has exams this week. She is stressing a bit.

Guess I will WI and measure tomorrow since I totally forgot at 4:45 this morning LOL

    Have a great week!

    ~Renee
  • My info says Rutabega is a select veggie!

Rutabaga is an occasional veggie on the most current p1 sheet. In the stickies.
  • Will have to let my coach know...good thing I'm in maintenance now!
  • Electro-slim is offered by my clinic and I tried a complimentary 30 min. session yesterday. I was sore and tired last night so, went to bed at 6:30pm. This morning weighed -3.6 lbs since yesterday morning. This could be due to getting off program over holidays, gaining, and then staying OP for several days? But, I ate a huge steak last night which usually makes me retain. Is anyone doing the Electro-slim treatments? If so, how many times and how's it working?
  • Quote: Once I started using alternatives and buying my supplements from Swanson Vitamins I no longer burped that terrible fishy taste. ((Shudder))
This isn't on the subject of burping fish oil LOL but daks - when you went to Alternatives, what were your 'go to' brands and products you used the most? On a daily basis, as well as occasional?

Quote: I had my first WI in two weeks yesterday. Down 5.8 over the two weeks. Very unexpected this close to goal. I'm happy happy. I'm so close to goal now and contemplating how much more I want to lose before phasing into maintenance. I'm not the size I want to be. But I also want to be realistic... And pick something I am comfortable with and CAN maintain. Lots to think about IP POWER to all.
Re: not sure what you want your goal to ultimately be: Since you are so close to goal (congrats!!) and are still losing so consistently, maybe you could (if you are willing) just stay on Phase 1 until you stop progressing for a few weeks - at which time it seems your body is telling you it's reached a comfortable 'set point' and you could start phasing off at that point?

Quote: Just got back from doing some Christmas shopping. I went into homesense to see what I could find and they had a box of 12 packs of the herb simply chips on clearance for $12!
Are these equivalent to the new IP herb and garlic chips (the non-restricted ones)? This is so much cheaper! Does Homesense have a website where they sell these?

I know several of you use Mio or other flavor additive for your water. If you use this additive, can you still count it toward your water intake, or is that separate from your required water intake?
