This is my answer too.
Even if there are marginal differences in performance that are measurable when one exercises at different times a day - and I doubt there are, that would not vary so much from person to person or be so dependent upon tons of other factors as to be really, really difficult to predict - even if there were such marginal differences, they would certainly be cancelled out by missing half your planned workouts because the "optimal" time is a time that doesn't fit well with your lifestyle or schedule.
Exercise at the time that makes most sense to you given the other constraints in your life. The best workout is the one you will actually do. The best time is the time you will actually do it.
