Working out & an Extra Packet

  • I have started to do pilates 4-6 times a week while on IP. I have read on here that many people will have an extra packet when they work out. Just wondering if this is because they are hungry and need more protein, or if it helps in weight loss, since our bodies are consuming so few calories and if we're working out we need to add a few more so our body doesn't go into starvation mode.

I have not added in an extra packet, and I notice that when I work out my weight loss doesn't seem to be as much. I do understand that muscle weighs more than fat and all that, just wondering if an extra packet might increase my weight loss.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Exercising on IP doesn't help with the weight loss. And the extra packet is absolutely necessary to replace the calories burned - not to increase weight loss, but because otherwise your body will have no fuel for muscle recovery. Your losses will definitely stall if you skip the extra packet, or exercise at too high an intensity for your body to handle while on a super low calorie diet.
  • If you look in the stickies at the top, there's a whole thread on excercise, and there's much discussion regarding this subject.
  • Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it!
