  • Keylani,

I found this cool blog of a women who lost 158 lbs with gastric bypass surgery. She's now an advocate for trying to get health insurance companies to cover the cost of that surgery. But here you are proving that you can do it on your own without such drastic measures!

The blog is still really cool and I've become a follower on facebook. She loves to cook so it's chock full of great high-protein mini-meals and desserts/snacks that I plan on incorporating into my diet once I'm in maintenance, and the little portions are perfect for my kids as well. • Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting these pictures. I've been taking pictures of myself each month, and I weigh a lot more than you do at your heaviest. The pictures are depressing, but being able to see your progression helps me to realize that I'll look a lot different in a couple of years! Thanks for sharing.
  • And besides that... you have fabulous hair!!
  • You are absolutely stunning! Thank you so much for sharing.

    *snip*
I'm still very embarrassed about the before and current pictures. I posted them in hopes to inspire someone else out there and let them see that it's possible to be severely morbidly obese and lose weight.
Keylani, I've recently joined 3FC and have been looking at as many photos as I can find because they are inspirational. I'm going to take my own photos. At the moment, I would be embarrassed for anyone to see them. But, once the weight is gone, I hope like you, I can post them and inspire others.

For what it's worth, I never think, "Ewww, gross" when looking at the before pictures (apart from my own). I focus on the progress pictures and think things like "amazing", "well done", "haven't they come a long way!" & "wonder if I'll be able to do it" and I sincerely thank people for showing people like me who are starting out on their journey, that it is possible!!

You are an inspiration ... and have a gorgeous smile!!
  • Keylani, you should not be embarassed about how far you've come, your pics inspire and encourage many, including me! I'm a tall girl like you,I like to look at before/afters of women who are built like me so I can say ok, that's what I can look like, yes! Congrats to you, your hard work paid off!!
