Valentine's Day Mini Goal Challenge

  • Valentine's Day is about 6 weeks away.
    I'd like to drop to 138 by Feb 14, which would be a loss of about 12 lbs.
    (I've been at 149.6 two mornings in a row)

    This challenge is just about posting your Feb 14 mini goal and try to post at least once per week with an update of where you're at and how you are planning.

    So for me-
    I will pack a lunch at least 3 days per week.
    I will drink 32 oz of water daily.
    I will plan and measure meals in advance as much as possible.
    I will attend one exercise class this week, and then do a fitness DVD on Sat & Sun
  • On today's weighing I am 12 stone 3.4 pounds which is 171.4 pounds

    I also want to lose about 12 pounds in the next 6 weeks. That gives me a goal of 159 (11 stone 5) on 14th February.

    My current rules are
    drink at least 2 litres water per day
    limit breakfast cereal to 1 bowl per day
    no junk food (sugar free sweets, granulated sweetener and diet cola is allowed)
    no pieces of cheese
    no bread

    minimum 15,000 steps per day
    (in a normal week I do salsa twice a week and hardcore Zumba twice a week)
  • I would like to weigh 140 or less by Valentine's Day. I'm guessing my starting weight for the challenge is somewhere around 147 but it could be slightly lower.

    I'd like to eat more veggies. I'd also like to cook more often and that doesn't mean throwing on a tv dinner...

    Decreasing my mile time would be nice as well but it's been cold out and I tend to hibernate in the winter which is why this is gonna be a little tough. =)
  • I've weighed today and am 12st 2.6 pounds which is 170.6 pounds.

    I am not thrilled with my Christmas gain - not least because it has put me the wrong side of the "obesity" boundary... 169 will get me the right side of that again... I want to get back there asap...

    I am adding dried fruit and nuts to my forbidden food rules... I have snacked too often on them recently and if they are forbidden I will stop buying them...

    I assume that you love to dance lovedancelive - me too... what kind of dancing do you like best?
    I did the first Zumba class last night since the Saturday before Christmas... I could feel the extra weight I have gained... I have to wait until Saturday for my first salsa since before Christmas.
  • Well, not really. It's sort of from a song, Dance Again, by Jennifer Lopez. She sings: "I wanna dance, and love, and dance again" but I thought it was unnecessarily repetitive. So I just decided to name myself lovedancelive.

    I don't count the dancing I do in my bedroom when I'm listening to music. >.>
  • I currently weigh 185.4, my goal is to get to at least 175 by valentines day!!! thats ten pounds. I can do it!
  • I have the same goal as Katie Bug! I want to be 175 by Valentine's day. It's been a few years since I was at that weight and I'm ready to be back and continue to lose. I started at 184 and now I'm at 182.5 so I'm on the right track so far.

  • Argh. I am not off to the best start. I blame the 6 degree Fahrenheit weather. Brrrrr. Kept snacking yesterday. Did better today but craving craving craving Chinese food. Oh well, at least I did not cave.
    I ate low fat cottage cheese.

    Skipped workout tonight. Terribly cold and feel a cold coming on.

    I think I did well today, all things considered.

    My weight loss is fairly slow lately, and while I'd like to post a really ambitious goal, I'm gonna set it for losing about 7 pounds.

    My big goal for January is more exercise! I'm a fitness instructor and time spent rehearsing will help me on multiple levels. I've been doing ok with food (after Christmas anyway) but I've been sooo sedentary.

  • Things are going well so far here...

    My steps were low yesterday so I got on the treadmill late at night (and just got my steps up to the 15,000 I like to see as a minimum at 10 to midnight)...
    that was close!!!

    I was really pleased that I did as I didnt gain today despite having a piece of cake yesterday when spending the day with friends...
  • I'd like to make it to 160. I'm at 171 right now. So, that's 11 lbs.
    I went to zumba class this morning. So that's a good start...
