Customers called "Fat Girls" on restaurant bill

  • A waiter identified his customers as "Fat Girls" in the bill. This remains me of a time back in 2000, when my 2 gal pals and I went to the local Applebee's and ordered drinks and appetizers at the bar. The bartender gave us our bill and we were identified as '3 Queens'. I didn't think anything of it, but my friend was insulted by it. She told me that she took it as an insult and didn't leave a tip for him. To this day, I'm still not sure how she took the term "3 Queens" as an insult...perhaps he was calling us men in drag??? Anyway, I hope this waiter gets fired.

  • I agree he should be fired.
  • I hope he gets fired as well. So insensitive and hurtful.
  • Appears that fired he was:

And he deserved to be fired.
  • I agree he deserved to be fired. But the woman are also carrying it 'way too far by going on over how hurt they are, etc., and talking about lawsuits. It was an insult but it is just not that big a deal.
  • I think it is a big deal, other restaurants and businesses should look at this as something that should never happen. Wait persons are there to serve not to insult paying customers and driving them away thus losing customers for their employer.
  • That is horrible! Sounds like he did get fired though, which is good!!! I understand that is one mans poor decision and the restaurant should do more to apologize to the women, but they should not be totally at fault as they did fire him and can't be 100% blamed for lack of respect their employee showed. Guess they should just be doing better interviews...
