  • Quote: evepet....are you feeling any better???
Hi Rainbow. Thanks for asking. I am feeling somewhat better, but still definitely not up to par.
  • Quote: Rainbow - There is a place called Yough in Pennsylvania. There is a coal miners memorial there, so there must have been mines in the area (at least at one time). Is Pennsylvania a possibility?? The Youghiogheny river lake is there - part of the Youghiogheny River I think - I remember rafting that river at summer camp when I was a kid... It's in the Allegheny mountains, so likely there will be snow.

I kind of hope this is not the answer because then the clues would stop...
WOW LIZ! Look at you below goal. Congrats.
  • Congrats Teena!

Evepet, glad to hear you're getting better. Continue to take care of yourself.

Thankfully today is the last day of the billing cycle for my net service, so tomorrow I can be on here more. We think it is the 3FC site that is actually eating up so many of the MBs, with all the rotating ads and emoticons

The stress at work is getting worse - anyone else have a boss that is ADHD??? When she is stressed (and she is almost always stressed) it gets so much worse, and this is year-end so extra work with that - sigh..."This too shall pass." OR..."What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." LOL Anyway, I'm discovering just how much I used to eat in response to stress as I've really had to fight to behave myself this week - and haven't been all that successful a couple of the days. Sooo, I see a few days of P1 happening beginning Sunday. Arrrggggg. Sorry about the rant, but need to get it out.

On another note, now my VIP is also trying to figure out where Rainbow is going for Christmas! LOL I read him all the clues and he is doing the radius and looking up the clues. Susan, your husband sounds like a lot of fun!

i'm glad you brought up the temptation of eating when stressed!! today has been one of those nibble days for me. there have only been a few in the last 34 weeks, even so....i need to reign it in!!

today i baked cookies for the nursing home....and i didn't eat any cookies but i did lick my share of spoons. i dont know why really because i dont even like cookie dough!!

dh is working late tonight...so i can't get any more hints at the moment!! hahahaha but when he gets home i need more clues!!! thats still too many states!!!!

be sure to tell you VIP to share insights!!!

my dh is a lot of fun....we are lucky!!!

rainbow and greeniris, dh wants you to know he's going crazy trying to figure this out. Like Rainbow said, Cindy, if your VIP comes up with anything, please let us know.

Cindy, know all about the stress thing at work. I feel for you. Try to find distractions rather than eat. At least, don't eat bad stuff. I have been making homemade beef jerky. I take a couple pieces and have tiny bits every so often. That snacking is somewhat better than candy or licking spoons.

Glad to hear others good success at WIs, etc.

I forgot to share my trip to my hormone doctor (a specialist in Atlanta where I get my bioidentical hormones). He hasn't seen me for 15 months. I was really close in weight to where I was when I started IP last January. He didn't recognize me in the waiting room. He was so impressed. He administers the HCG diet and had tried and tried to talk me into it previously. He said I should be there poster child (I didn't want to go into the story of the real poster child, Wuv). He had also had me have a full blood panel. It came back perfect. Nothing our of the normal range. It's really nice to be healthy.

Now, if only I could get my foot to stop hurting. I have had 6 physical therapy sessions. It's hurting less and the PT is pleased with what she's seeing. I guess she should be able to judge. I've never had anything like this nor had PT. so I have no idea.

Big update on my retirement. The reason at work that I was waiting until 1/31 to leave has now been postponed for a few months, so I told my boss. I'm out of there right after the first of the year. I will stay until 2013 just so I get my company contribution to my 401K. That contribution could be amount to anywhere from $3000-$5000. I'll stick it out until Jan 4 for that chunk of change. But, I'm excited it's getting closer now.

Time to get ready for bed. Still having to go into work early. Get pretty tired by this time each night.

Have a great evening and a good OP tomorrow (don't get to check 3FC at work during the day - will miss you all)

  • Changing Goals
    Hi,
I had a follow up appt with my regular nurse practitioner earlier this week. She was amazed and very encouraging on the diet results. I asked her what her thoughts were on my goal weight. I was very clear I was shooting for under 200 and told her I started out thinking 180. She cringed and said 190. After talking more about how I've been in the 200's since/during highschool she upped that to 199. I know it's early in the process to really "know" my goal, but I think moving my goal up from 180 will be helpful. There's nothing saying I can't set 195 and see how maintaining that goes. If it works out, and if I want to go lower, I can go back on phase 1 at some point in the future and take it lower. I'm thinking 195 so there's a little buffer under the 200 mark.

I will be excited to be closer to goal, and the end of phase 1. I'm a bit disappointed I'm not living up to my login user name "half again" but I want to be able to maintain, and honestly there's going to be enough loose skin to be absorbed or removed the end number is a bit deceiving. This is for me and I already feel so much better, I can imagine another ~60 lbs is going to make a huge difference from how I feel today. Plus I will be exercising and getting in shape, which will change how I feel/look a lot I'm sure.

I will change my ticker and such with tomorrow's WI updates.
  • Quote: i forgot about wisconsin....he has not been there! good point about the cheese!! i will go research more!!

ooooo i dont want to wait until tomorrow for another clue!!

i'm getting NO HOUSEWORK done!! hahaha this is fun but insane! hahaha
There is also a very big lake just east of wisconsin called Lake Michigan
  • Wanted to add to my post my WI on wed 1# more down. Small step but a step and that is what counts.

Rainbow if the trip is Wisconsin you can be looking over the lake and know that just beyond is Michigan. Wave and yell real loud Greeniris and I may just hear you!
  • The yes/no with the passport could mean Vermont. It is very easy to slip back and forth over the border there.

But I think the cheese hint may point to Wisconsin.
  • Quote: Hi Rainbow. Thanks for asking. I am feeling somewhat better, but still definitely not up to par.
Oh no! I'm just wondering if there is anyone left in Canada who dídn't get this nasty headcold?
  • Quote: ok so i'm going back over my clues....

    1. he said its a state that HE has NEVER been to.
which i think i have narrowed down to these:
north dakota, south dakota, minnesota, nebraska, iowa, wisconsin, connecticut, rhode island and vermont

    2. he said it was a 75% chance or better of snow on christmas day based on usa todays chart
    http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/weath...e/whitcmas.htm

    3. he said it was within 20 hours drive from charleston sc

    4. he said to pack all warm clothes including snow boots, coat, hat, scarves, gloves because it would be cold

    5. O my Darling, Who knew the road from Brighton would lead to Charleston and I would marry the Darling Princess of my Dreams!

May All your Winter Snow wishes come true, And I'm Sure they will, for Darling, not everything is as it seems!

    6. Backpack & Binoculars & a Picnic for 2
We'll sit and watch wildlife and enjoy a lake view

we shall go hiking even if it snowed
Will Yough be Mine as we travel the knowledge road

I know you want more clues But i can't make it too easy
Have fun guessing, Hope my clues are not too cheesy

7, i asked if i need a passport and he said, yes, no, maybe so...
but then bubbleblower reminded me he did said STATE...so probably no where in canada

    8. he did mention about taking me to the biggest mall in america but that was before the clues started and before he told me we were going away for christmas. even so....the sorta points to minnesota! haha

so this is what i have concluded...its north, obviously hahaha
all of those states fall into the 75% or greater category

i think north dakota is too far and south dakota is probably too far too to stay within the 20 hour drive.
Is there a difference being "to" a state and being "through" a state?
    Especially for cryptic clues?
There is certainly a difference between visiting somewhere and driving through on an interstate or stoping through at an airport.

I'm still thinking Minnesota. My friends from there always bring me cheese curds when they come back from a visit home.

There may be something to this. I have traveled a good bit, but I never claim to have been to Amsterdam although I have made several connecting flights at their airport.

WOW Molly! All kinds of good news from you! I am so happy for you about your blood test results, on the retirement looming even closer now, and the progress with your foot!!! This will give you more time to pack up for your move north later in the year. Steve said he'd need to have the list of clues in front of him to really work on it, so if he's up to it tonight I'll copy/paste the list for him. (BTW - my son in Tulsa does these kinds of things for his girlfriend too...so romantic!)

Halfagain - you have had so much success with IP...there are a number of you (you, Wuv, Molly, IPdivajen, & so many others) that could be the poster child for IP. IP should set up a rotation! I understand about changing your goal weight - I changed mine too, and I am very happy with where I'm at. Congratulations to you!

Julie - all those small steps add up as you know! Congrats on the loss (Susan would have to yell pretty loud for us to here her across Lake MI! LOL)

You have a good point - hmmm...

Oh my goodness - I just want to crawl back into bed and sleep a few more hours! I'm feeling better, just so tired! My shipment from Nashua Nutrition finally arrived a couple days ago (Fed Ex had lost it for several days), so now I can feel good about the snack I have this afternoon.

    Have a great day all!
  • R A I N B O W

Where are you and today's clue??????

We're all dying to hear the next clue.

    Molly

P.S. Working at home, yea. Can get on 3FC now and then.
