Maple Oatmeal TOOOOOOOO Sweet. Help!

  • The stuff is so sweet, it makes my teeth curl, and I bought a whole box! Cannot just soak and wash it off as the protein will be gone too. Anybody has any bright ideas of maybe mixing it with some sort of "filler" with no calories, carbs or fat??? Ha, ha. I am sort of wishful thinking here, but you never know. You gals have some great ideas and lots more experience than I.
  • What if you did half oatmeal and half pancake to make an oatmeal pancake?
  • I add a cup of shredded zucchini, egg whites and baking powder to make a pancake. Search for the recipe. I'm not a big sweet fan & I don't think it is too sweet. I usually add some WF strawberry spread (or apple butter)
  • I make zucchini muffins from them. Also there is an IP recipe for making stuffing using the oatmeal. I am making that tonight so I can have it tomorrow.

    Oatmeal Zucchini muffins
    Ingredients:
1 Ideal Protein Maple Oatmeal Packet
    1 Egg – beaten
    1/2 tsp Baking Powder
    Pinch of Salt
    1 tsp of Stevia
    1-1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 – 3/4 of small zucchini finely grated.
you may need to squeeze out the extra juice.

    IP Stuffing

2c your favorite veggies chopped up in food processor
    1c diced mushrooms
    3 egg whites
    1 tsp poultry seasoning
    1 tsp salt
fresh ground black pepper to taste
    8-16oz water
1-2 tbs Braggs seasoning/spice blend or your own favorite
    1 IP chicken soup packet
    1 IP oatmeal packet
Optional seasoning: rosemary, basil, thyme and/or garlic

Oatmeal biscuits: Beat 1 egg white then stir the IP oatmeal packet until mixed thoroughly. Add 2oz of water until batter is thin and spoonable, but not runny. You may want to add a tsp of poultry seasoning or other seasoning of your choice. Spoon batter onto a non-stick baking sheet and bake at 400F for about 10 min, or until golden brown. Once biscuits are cooled, tear them up and let dry out over an hour or two.

In a mixing bowl, put dried oatmeal biscuits, seasonings, chopped veggies, mushrooms and Bragg's. (If desired, add IP soy nuts). Mix and set aside. In your blender bottle or other mixer, mix 8 oz of water with IP chicken soup mix and blend well. Add 2 egg whites to soup mix. Mix well and pour over veggie/biscuit mix and stir (should be moist). Place in an olive oil sprayed casserole dish. Cook at 350F for about 20 min.
  • I think someone has a recipe for rhubarb crisp. I've not tried it yet, but I've been meaning to. If that's something that sounds appealing to you, maybe do some searches. Here's one that I Googled: http://keeprecipes.com/recipe/howtoc...-rhubarb-crisp (The IP search tool is too difficult )
  • Here is a rhubarb crisp recipe from this IP forum. I used the search tool and it came right up! Sometimes the search tool works well and sometimes it is frustrating.
