A GOOD day shopping!

  • I started this weight loss journey after a very depressing shopping trip to buy bigger work clothes--size 16's. For the first time ever on that trip, I had to go "upstairs" at Macy's to shop in the women's department. Having a few weeks before returning to work, and determined never to wear those clothes, I committed to lose the weight. My goal is to become a normal BMI, whatever size that leads me to. Well, after a few weeks I was able to return those clothes and fit comfortably into my size 14's again. My size 14's are getting uncomfortably large so I decided yesterday to finally buy some new clothes. You can imagine my delight when I could get into size 10's! Many are still a wee bit tight, but I decided to skip 12's altogether since I 've still got weight to lose and they fit well enough. I have not been a 10 since my early 20's.
  • Awesome job! The old me would have just eaten my depressed self into the 16 and maybe an 18. Well done on taking the hint and getting to work! Keep it up!
  • Congrats!! That is so exciting.. Keep it up!
  • Your post interested me because we are close in height and I am close in weight. I am guessing that I will be close to a size 10 in another 10-12 pounds or so. (I am a 12 now at 167)....As far as going upstairs to the Macys plus dept. I hear you. No fun. Congrats on taking those clothes back AND skipping a size!
  • Thanks ladies!

Dstalkalot-yes, I think we are pretty similar. Size 10 is definitely something to look forward to.
  • How exciting! Congrats
  • You're close to your mini goal penmage! Keep going!

What an exciting outcome! I know all too well that walk of shame at Macys (although i'm not a regular there)What an accomplishment. Great job. A high five to you! I'm several sizes behind you but you are inspiration.
