Lurker no more!!

  • Hi everyone

I have been lurking on 3 fat chicks for a month now and I decided I want to finally participate! I love going on this website, it has really motivated me to change myself for the better

I am 18 years old and I live in London, I joined mainly because I am tired of being the biggest girl in every room I enter and very very tired of being the fat girl in my circle of friends. I hate feeling like the token fat friend and have overheard people saying 'oh I might be X but at least I'm not as fat as Alia'
I am glad I've finished high school because being a teenage girl and overweight is truly awful haha

8 days ago I made a decision to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way, when I told friends and family about my goal to weigh 140lbs they looked very unconvinced and laughed- well I want to prove them all wrong and just wow them with my new lovely body

I am 5'8 and 8 days ago I weighed 201.7lbs I found this great website on primal living (mark's daily apple )and I cut out all grains from my diet. I also began intermittent fasting and I now weigh 193lbs -I did this all without exercise.

Speaking of exercise, I don't know where to begin and if anyone could give me some tips or a starting point I would be very grateful

    Thanks

    Alia
  • welcome
Welcome my dear you are totaly accepted here

Im new myself here not new to dieting though BUT this is the LAST time I will have to lose weight
  • Welcome Alia! I am actually new to this forum as well. I am also 5'8" and am currently at 177 (started at 185!), so it seems we may be on the same path together. Unfortunately I am 20 years older than you, so it is likely you will lose much faster then me! My goal is 145 and I am also on a similar eating plan. Lean protein, tons of veggies and healthy fats. Oh and LOTS of water!!
Good for you for going forth with your new lifestyle changes, despite your friends and family's doubt that you can succeed. I think you have got it in you, so keep up the good work. Every day is a new day so make the right choices and I am positive you will succeed!
  • Good Luck, Alia! You have a great attitude and I wish you oodles of strength when it's hard, comfort when it's jagged and hope when it feels dim. Happy Healthyin'!
  • Thank you all so much! It's so good to have such a warm welcoming community cheering you on
  • Welcome!! Glad you're here!
  • Thank you Laurlie.
  • Hi Alia,
I am a new member also. Sounds like you are off to a promising start!
