I got a surgery date from my doctor yesterday! It's April 21st! I am supposed to be examined by a pulmulnary specialist doctor. What does this consist of?
The pumonologist is no big deal. listen, if i can pass it, so can you. they check your oxygen saturation [which is the percentage of oxygen pumping through your system]. they measure it by putting this little clampy thing on your index finger., hold still and don't talk!!!!! it just takes a minute or two. but dont talk!!! your saturation will drop!!!
They also check your lung function,. you take a huge breath in and then blow into this little device as hard as you can and as fast as you can. they'll give you exact instructions. this measures how much air you inhale and exhale, and they can tell if you have lung disease by analyzing these numbers, the size of the breath you inhaled, how much you exhaled, and how long it took you to do it.
and tney may check you for sleep apnea. might not happen though.
