  • Did you guys hear that you will not be able to buy individual packets from your clinics after June 1st?

My coach told me that the FDA sent IP a notice since the packets aren't labeled for individual sale.

What do you all know about this?

I guess it means that I'll be buying food every few months as opposed to every week. I find this totally obnoxious- bc it means that, in order to have variety in my diet, I am going to have to either buy a whole lot of boxes up front ($$$$$).
  • Wow.
My coach did tell me that the new item(s) cost more per box than the current line up, so she won't be able to do "mix and match" boxes on the new items. Those will have to be full box sales.

Currently she sells the packets "by the box" but it can be a mixed box, just as long as there are 7 packets in it. Maybe that's how she's getting around the "not labeled for individual sale"?
  • The Protein Store sells individual packets for $4.00 each, no tax and free U.S. Priority Mail. I haven't seen any indication that they are going to stop doing that yet.

  • I can understand your frustrations. I buy boxes because I can not stand trying to figure out what is what and trying to read the directions on the packets is frustrating. But today I did what you are suggesting and bought 8 boxes so I would have some variety and I also keep things at work and in my truck for emergencies or when I just forget to pack something. My coach has been cool about giving me a sample every once in a while. She gave me a Chicken al a King last week, smart business move, I bought a box of it today at WI. She did the same with Wild Berry Yogurt today.
  • The FDA has an issue with the fact that the packets do not have the nutritional information listed on them. It is illegal to sell with out that information being given to the consumer. At my clinic you get all the nutritional labels on sheets with your start-up bag and when a new product comes out you get an additional hand out.

My clinic doesn't give away squat. Plus, they went up on the prices ($5.00 for an individual packet!) and charge 9% tax. They still don't know that I no longer buy from them. I get everything from The Protein Store.

I just saw your ticker and how close you are to GOAL. 4 more pounds to go. That is Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.
  • My clinic only sells it by the box. I buy 2 weeks at a time and as you guys know it is pricy but if I only bought for 1 week I would burn out with the monotony in no time.

Thank you!!! I'm moving into phase two starting weds!
  • My clinic never did individual packets- way jealous! Nor do they give things away LOL
  • My clinic allows folks to buy packets for the first two weeks on the program. Then you have to buy whole boxes. They will let you buy one pack of something to try it. I've been buying my supplements from the aforementioned Protein Store because they're a lot cheaper than my clinic. I get my food at my clinic, though. In the beginning, I would buy an extra box of something and was able to add variety to my diet that way.
  • really?? we have not heard of this at my clinic. I go for weigh in tomorrow so will find out and report back!
  • Just wanted to report in. Our center did not say anything about it so I guess it new change is making its way around the country but not yet where I am
  • Does anyone know who owns the Protein Store?
    Is it Ideal Protein?

I don't know, but I doubt it. A lady named Daisy responses to my emails and hand-writes thank you notes on my invoices. I get the feeling that it's a small operation. (or was before so many of us started ordering from them and spread the word).
