Five things you're happy about

  • Battling a regain isn't easy, but I'm trying to focus on the positives.

    Here are some of mine:

    1) I've maintained a ten percent weight loss for two years.
    2) I can get back to my exercise routine, instead of having to start one.
    3) I have lots of nice skinny clothes that will fit again soon.
    4) I felt good about myself slim, and I still feel good about myself. I can choose to lose weight if I want to.
    5) I know that if I work my plan, then my plan will work.

    How about you guys?
  • 1) I'm off meds: sugar levels balanced
    2) Normal cholesterol and blood pressure
    3) My knees are getting much, much better
    4) I've overcome all the slips & blips along the way
    5) I've maintained my loss for 7 years as of April/2012

2.) I'm no longer borderline diabetic
3.) My cholesterol levels (all) are in normal range
4.) Now that I have switched birth control I am losing weight again
5.) I still have the support of family and friends and no one judged me (to my face) about the amount I regained.
  • 1. It's my birthday today!
    2. At 26, I weigh what I did at 16
    3. My kids are so silly and strange, they make me smile
    4. I can wear cute clothes on my date tonight and genuinely know I look awesome.
    5. I have my health!
  • Great thread. I'm happy about so many things - but here are some that are at the top of the list today.

    1) I've been able to maintain without too much trouble for 6 months.
    2) My tomatoes and peppers are all planted in their pots along my driveway.
    3) DD will be here for a visit is a few days,
    4) I'm sure when I stop at the grocery store on the way home from the gym in my sweaty workout clothes, people are just saying, "Look at that slob," instead of, "Look at that fat slob."
    5) This should really be #1 - I'm truly happy for all the good things in my life - and even for the rough spots - because life really is pretty wonderful.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.
  • Great thread idea!

    Happy birthday Taryl!

    1. I've only had a small regain - I'm still down over 30 lbs!
    2. I'm being proactive about losing more - my eating hasn't been abysmal and is getting better, I'm working my way through The Beck Diet Solution, and I'm starting a new physical activity.
    3. My apartment is clean!
    4. I'm about to start an exciting educational experience.
    5. Overall, I feel good!
  • I think this is a great thread; can I post again?

1 -- I'm staying POP so much more these days
2 -- the weather is great, so I'm going outside more
3 -- finally finding my groove: what to eat, what not to
4 -- found lower calorie snacks and that is helping me a lot
5 -- our back deck/ramp is finished, so I can walk every day
  • Quote: 4) I'm sure when I stop at the grocery store on the way home from the gym in my sweaty workout clothes, people are just saying, "Look at that slob," instead of, "Look at that fat slob."
    This made me LOLOLOL!

    1. When I started this journey almost 8 weeks ago I could not button my size 18 jeans, and now I can fit into a 16!
    2. I haven't missed a workout in 23 days! Been every single day since I joined the gym.
    3. My hip doesn't hurt when I run anymore.
    4. I'm in Onederland!
    5. I feel good about myself again.
  • 1. I no longer suction to the bottom of the tub.
    2. All my mysterious aches and pains have disappeared.
    3. I'm now klutzy due to my own error, not my hips brushing up against everything.
    4. I only get winded for a good reason, not because I reached over to get a Reisen.
    5. I'm happy I stopped rewarding myself with food and instead found my rewards within my self.
  • 1.) I have my health and I REALLY appreciate that most of all.
2.) I get a lot of joy out of my family. I'm so blessed to have them.
3.) Since I've gotten well and back to regular eating, I've upped my calories by a LOT compared to pre-illness (1800ish vs 1200) and I haven't gained weight. SHOCKER! I'd never have dared eat 1800 on a regular basis before.
4.) I actually LIKE calorie counting. It's like a game to me. It feels weird not to log. Which is just as well...
5.) I actually miss exercise when I don't do it. Me!!! Even I can't believe it.

    4) I have motivated a ton of people around me to start getting healthy
    5) I am so close to my goal, I can taste it. Not yet. But soon!
