  • Body fat percentage is what is important!!!
  • Quote: I'm 5'2'' and 141 right now also. I'm wearing small shirts. I wore size 4 pants today. I get compliments all the time. I know I look so much better than I did at 180, but I can still do better. I still want better.

I'm pretty petite so my doctor would like to see me between 115-119lbs. It would put me in the middle of the normal BMI range, and give me some "wiggle room". Do I think I'll really get that low? Maybe. Maybe not. But it's my decision and not anyone else's.

Wow! I cannot wait to hit 149! Good for you! I am on my way there!
  • Just like everyone else is saying, you know what's best for your own body!

Although, try not to be too angry at your family! I know when my sister first started losing weight she got really obsessive about exercising and what she would eat. After she lost the weight she relaxed more but we were worried that if she continued that way that it might be a unhealthy way to live. So maybe you appear really focused and obsessed to your family right now? (lol sorry if that sounds bad!)

It sounds like they love you and want the best for you but are having a hard time realizing that it's YOU who knows what's best for you!
  • I’m going to suggest something a little different than jealousy. I think we need to remember that after we have lost a significant amount of weight we sometimes look rather gaunt. After being at our low weight for a while our bodies will adjust and we will start looking a whole lot better …but it takes a while.

The people who love you may be seeing that gauntness and think you are harming yourself because of it. Just let them know that you appreciate their concern but your goal is well within healthy standards. It may take a few months after getting to goal for the gauntness to completely go away but once it does I am sure your loved ones will celebrate your victory with you.
  • I agree with what everyone has said, but there is another aspect you can use to keep them quiet. For a height of 5'2", 140 still falls into the overweight catagory and your goal of 130 is right in the middle of the healthy range. Do what YOU feel is right! You live in that body, not them.
  • I can totally identify with this! I've been getting remarks too from my mom and sister lately that they think I should quit (and they're both on IP too). I think part of it is because I've haven't been at this weight since my mid teens and they just have never seen me at a 'decent' weight. But my chiropractor (the head at my clinic) agrees that my goal would be a good weight for me, so I'm going for those last 13.5 pounds. I think I would always be sorry if I didn't.
