Anyone doing/done the Insanity Workouts?!?!

  • So Im going to start the Insanity workouts tomorrow and do the full 60 days! Anyone whos done this or doing it any advice/tips to get through the whole thing.... it looks so intense and I have a bad habit of quitting workout routines after like a week...

Also how quick did you start seeing results??
  • I LOVE them! They are SO hard... But the feeling of accomplishment when you finish one is incredible. Make sure you do the scheduled fitness tests- that's where your improvement will really show. I couldn't believe how much more I could do after 60 days.

As far as appearance- yeah it's tough exercise, but your results will rely mostly on your diet.

I saw results after 30 days and then my body really started to re-shape in phase 2.

Don't quit though!! It's so worth if and it's so fun to be able to look back at your first fit test and the last one to see how far you have come. Just make sure you're pushing yourself to do as much as you can (safely of course) and don't be afraid to modify if you need to. Better girl pushups at the end of the workout than nothing, better little jumps than none at all. Just push through and stay positive. I seriously love these workouts- I'm excited for you to start :-)
  • Insanity is tough as nails. It will work you out so hard and you will feel so sore and crippled in the first week. Don't give up though! Because soon your body starts to get used to the torture! Keeping up with it every single day was a struggle for me since other plans could get in the way - especially in phase 2 when the workouts become an hour long.

If you have the time, dedication and will power you will most definitely see results. I highly recommend the eating plan too, you will shed weight if you follow everything precisely even if you think "wow, that's a lot of calories." A lot of calories, yes, but a lot of healthy fuel pumping food is definitely needed here!

Good luck, dig deeper, you'll feel amazed how much your fitness will increase with Insanity.

P.S. Forgot to mention, with Insanity I lost 20 lbs in total but I was doing it on and off. Sometimes I would miss out entire weeks. But considering that it's a home workout - 20 lbs is amazing! If you can stick to it religiously I'm sure you'll get much better results than I did.
  • Thanks Ladies!!! I just finished the first workout and I feel like throwing up or passing out... one or the other.... but I did the entire thing which is an accomplishment in itself for me... Riestrella! 20lbs omg thats amazing... if I lose even close to that it will be better then what ive been doing ! thanks again ladies... Ill be sure to keep posting updates!
  • Insanity is INSANE. I started it and my ankles killed me, that was 30lbs ago though. I have yet to attempt it again, and I think I will....the BF is talking about starting it up again.

    Good luck to you!
  • I just got it in the mail but not starting it for 2 more weeks. I have an 8k race at the end of the month that I really need to focus on. I am REALLY excited for it though. Keep us updated! I've heard nothing but great things about it.
  • I will.. Im sure tomorrow I will be ready to die again... today i was ready to throw up .... seriously that bad... but it was fun and I enjoy doing it more then other workouts ive tried!!

Was that the fit test? Because just wait until you do one of the real workouts ;p
  • I have P90X and have been thinking about changing up. I think I might give it up try. The P90x is also hard.
  • I did Isanity for 2 weeks back in January and I LOVED it! I haven't worked out that hard in forever. However, I suffer from migraines, and got one at the end of the second week that knocked me out for about 4 days. When I got better and went back to it, every time I'd work hard again, I'd get a headache. I've stayed away from it for quite a while but am thinking I might jump back into it in 8 weeks when I'm done C25k. Best of luck with it!! Make sure you're drinking a lot of water throughout the day to stay hydrated cuz you will S-W-E-A-T!!!
  • riestrella: yes it was just the fit test... but I did do a normal workout today and day 2... whewww let me just say I was sweating like a champ altho today it didnt take me as long to recover as it did yesterday ... however im more sore today from the workout... every part of me is sore... my feet my calves i could barely walk after sitting down for like a half hour.... -_-

amyleigh: perhaps you were getting the headaches because you didnt have enough food or water in your system? and well I dont really know anything about you but maybe ur body was like borderline diabetic?! When I was pregnant and I got gestational diabetes... i would have these huge migraines and get dizzy and stuff when i did too much... didnt think anything of it at the time because i did realize i had GD but perhaps your blood sugar was too low or something like that?

Cant wait for Day 3 tomorrow!!!! Feel the burn!!! lmfao
  • After I move and am not living on the top floor (sorry neighbors below!), I'm thinking of doing the insanity/p90x, either one or both interchangably. My bf and I both want to do them and can be like a mini-challenge amongst us!

I'm trying to lose some weight before I start them though since I feel like it'd be too hard on my joints right now...
  • nanook its def hard on the body... I live in an apt... just dont wear shoes when you do it ... lmfao I probably sounded like a herd of elephant the first day but the second day wasnt so bad without shoes...
  • Starting Insanity this Weekend
Hello! I was wondering if anyone is still doing insanity or has completed it. What were your results? I'm excited to hear from you!
