let's do this.

  • I added a post to the Introductions thread, but I want to make my own post so that I can't just slink away.

I've done Weight Watchers in the past and was very successful with it! I used Bootcamp Buddies forum for a lot of support and loved it! This time around, I'm going to try 3FC I currently cannot attend meetings, so I'm trying to figure out the new PointsPlus plan by learning what I can online. I plan to attend meetings in the future.

So, I'm throwing myself out there! Here I am!

I'm a Pre-K teacher, avid roller derby player, admitted potato and bread addict. Highest weight, 205. Current weight...205 Lowest weight was 123 (but looking back at pictures, I looked very sickly and unhealthy at that weight). Goal weight: 135!

    Let's gooo!!!
  • hi!!!! i know what you mean about going too low - i'm short of five-three and i look fugly below 125 - all bones where there ought not to be. dunno what crack-headed idiot figured i should weigh 115.

this is a good place to be - stick with your program and you're sure to succeed again! (seems to me that improving health would be mightily handy keeping a room full of ankle-biters in line, yeah?)
  • I'm with you on being a potato-addict. In the past I basically existed on the stuff: any and all variants of potato food you can possibly imagine. I've now barred myself from having it. Once one potato chip finds its way in, another 100 will surely follow.

Good luck reaching your goals, and welcome to 3FC!
  • Maybe you could join online?
  • Hey Crystal, I remember you from BootCamp I left that forum bc I didn't like the revamped look (very hard to navigate and unpleasing to the eye) and it eventually became really dead.

Welcome back to WW. I think you should go to at least the 1st meeting for the materials bc PointsPlus is very different from the traditional programs we followed back then. The point system is not as simple and points for food items are a lot higher also (but so is your minimum daily points).

I had difficulty adjusting to PP when I first tried it and eventually went off-prog because I didn't take the time to read through and follow the materials. I was also very stubborn and resistant to change, esp since Flex had worked so well for me in the past. But now on my 2nd go, I have been faithfully following PP for 2+ months now, losing weight and enjoying the program tremendously. The only difference is that I now attend meetings weekly and use etools for tracking.

    Good luck!
  • I found it very hard to do the points + program, so I am still doing the old points program and am doing well with that. I've been doing it for 4 weeks not and have lost 18 lbs. I really like the old points plan and am having good success with it. I also do not attend any meeting, I'm just doing it on my own with the help of this site. Everyone here is great!!!!! Good luck to you!!!
  • Welcome!! Personally I love PP, after having done some of the previous programs, too. But I think it's all about what works best for the individual.

I am also totally jealous that you are a roller derby player!! That is so awesome!
  • I joined online but find that I really don't need it since there is so much information on other websites online and phone apps. I won't be renewing it when it comes around because I only use it to track my points. I don't like their message boards, I use 3FC for the support.
  • 3FC is the greatest site ever!!!!!!! And I'm with you memoree, there is so much out there, why pay. Times are tough!!
  • Welcome! I do WW at home myself, and 3FC makes all the difference. Its a place to get advice, ask questions, and people to listen to me whine when I need to whine!

That's so bada$$ that you are a roller derby player! I bet once you get the potato and bread thing sorted out (I am also a bread addict), the weight will just melt off with you doing something so physical!
  • Thanks so much ladies! Roller derby IS amazing! I thought with something so physical, I'd shed pounds, but actually it's made me look weirdly proportioned. Now I have these awesome legs, but my hips and stomach look huge. I never work anything other than my legs, and cardio alone isn't cutting

Today has been great! Coffee with 1pt of creamer, banana for breakfast, Progresso light soup 4pts, grapes, baby carrots, and applesauce 2 pts. I'm not starving or ready to kill someone! Fruits and veggies being 0 points puts me at only 7 points for the day...that doesn't seem right. Someone correct me if I'm wrong there?

Hle- I can't believe you remember me....I don't even have the same username or an avatar yet! Ha!
  • Hehe of course I remember you! I remember most of the Goalies and oldtimer T20s! Still stay in touch with a fair amount of them too.
  • Welcome, I work at an elementary school too! I'm not a teacher though, office clerk. I am also a recovering carb addict LOL it's very hard but doable!

You do roller derby, I am impressed! I have always wanted to do that but no way I could!

We are def. happy to have you here!!
  • Okay guys, doing roller derby IS pretty kick butt, but seriously ANYONE can do it! We wear so much padding, it's FUN to get knocked down once you realize you're wearing so much protective gear that you'll be fine!

Todayyyy I finished totally on point! heckyes!
