I'm new to the forum! A lot of questions I've asked google about weight loss have ultimately brought me here, so I figured it was time to register an account to say hello to everyone.
Twice before I have tried in vain to lose weight - the first time, in 2010, I lost 30 lbs before relapsing and gaining it all back. The second time I barely lost 10 lbs before falling to the same fate. So one week ago was my third "Week 1" - and I weighed in at 265 lbs. At this very second, I weigh 255 lbs for a total of -10lbs in a week; my best week ever!
I have three things in my favor this time that I didn't have the others.
1) The knowledge I gained from keeping a detailed journal the first time through.
2) I'm attending college more than three hours' drive upstate, which means I'm not living with my parents who I love but who have been enablers of the worst kind.
3) I've adopted a Low-Carb diet, with comes with a great deal more structure than I had in either of my first two attempts.
Hopefully I'll add a fourth factor in my favor by getting to know all the wonderful ladies and gents on this forum. It's great to think there is an entire group of people out there who will understand when I complain about the anxiety/excitement/impatience/small triumphs/slip-ups that come with trying to loose more than 100lbs.
