  • What is everyones thoughts on coffee? I love it, other than that I don't know if it's good or bad for weight loss.
  • I love coffee. I drink coffee every day. I did start to measure my creamer, and of course I track the calories for it. I am a calorie counter though, and I don't have any forbidden foods. I also don't have a problem with artificial sweeteners, so that doesn't add any calories to my coffee.

I think it just depends on your diet goals? Some people limit artificial sweeteners, and others don't like stimulants.
  • I use the liquid creamer (this way it's all in one!). I'm kinda counting caloires. Right now I'm watching what I'm eating and trying to break old bad habbits of eating whatever and whenever I want. I just didn't know if coffee was a positive or negative for weight loss.
  • I love coffee too. Drink it daily. I count the calories for cream/milk/(sugar, don't use that much in my coffees). Don't see it hindering weight loss. Personally I stay away from anything artificial whether it is creamer or sweeteners because I don't think it is healthy.
  • I love coffee but am low carb, low sugar - so use Stevia and half and half. I also blend my coffee to be half caffeinated as it can raise cortisol and blood pressure if you drink too much.
  • i drink between 36-60 oz's of coffee a day.

at work, with 2% milk, at home it is with NF milk.

basically, about 200 cals a day are dedicated to the coffee/crap that goes in my coffee (i also use splenda).

fun fact? coffee is an apetite surpressant.
  • I'd say it depends. I'm one of those people that coffee effects...badly. It sucks, because I LOVE coffee. It just doesn't love me. It raises my cholesterol and it causes my blood sugar to crash and then I get the shakes and have to eat. No coffee and my blood sugar is under control, my cholesterol is far better.
  • When I was a kid I drank coffee every morning. As an adult, except for the occasional starbucks(won't be drinking those anymore), I don't drink very much. My trainer suggested coffee or tea to me for in the morning before workout to boost my energy. I don't put sugar or milk in either of those though. I would say one or 2 cups a day are fine as long as you are not overdoing it with the cream or sugar(half/half sweetener).
  • I love coffee and am a self-admitted coffee snob. I have 2-3 cups a day, and I only put 1 tbsp half-and-half in my first cup. After that, I drink it black. It doesn't seem to affect my weight loss/maintenance at all.
  • I drink coffee on a daily basis. Now that I'm counting calories I measure my creamer and just make sure I have room for those calories. It doesn't seem to cause any sort of problem with my weight loss.
  • I take it black and only drink it in the morning.......it is also a diuretic so I get a double whammy with coffee and fiber supplement in water. LOL
  • I cut back a little bit recently, but I still drink a ton of coffee compared to most people I think. Now as well as during past dieting, I've never noticed it causing negative results except the fact that I have to force myself to drink more water. It dehydrates me and also keeps me from drinking water I might otherwise be drinking while I've got the coffee. But as long as I'm drinking enough water, the coffee has never hurt as far as I can tell.
  • I've come to find, like stimkovs said, I'm not as hungry after I drink a cup. So I started drinking a cup or 2 in the morning along with my breakfast and I'm good until lunch! (Unless I didn't have enough protien that morning then it's a little tough!) What's everyones fav brand or type of coffee?
  • I
  • plain black coffee on it's own is mostly good for weight loss, the caffeine helps give you some energy and suppress your appetite.

it's the creamers and milk that make it bad - definitely have to measure or weigh out the portion - 1-2 tablespoons of creamer isn't much when you measure it out, you might find you use much more when just eyeballing it.

So I try to limit the creamer and use coconut or almond milk in my coffee (or you could use regular low fat/skim milk if you prefer). I have also started sweetening my coffee and tea with xylitol, from my google research it's better than the other artificial sweeteners and it's actually good for your teeth!
