  • I am the mommy of a beautiful 2 year old little girl. While weight has always been a mild issue for me, after having a baby it's become a MAJOR issue. I am about 5ft tall and weigh in now at 158ish. Before baby I was 138ish. At 138 that was still too much for my height and I personally didn't feel "good". Now, I have an ongoing to struggle to shed even that last 20lbs of baby weight.
I did weight watchers, no success, then I paid waaaay tooooo much money and the metabolic miracle for 3 months and lost a whopping 7lbs
A local doctor in my area recently advertised the Ideal Protein Diet. I thought, what the heck I'll call to sign up for the informational meeting to be held in a couple weeks. I live a hectic life, baby/work/wife, etc. So, I am usually on the go and need some sort of life style eating plan that will fit that and be successful.
Wondering what success or issues others have had on this plan? I know the cost is slightly substantial but if it works and makes me feel better about me again, it's well worth it!
  • Welcome! I think this is a great diet. I am a SAHM of 4 busy kids and I've had great success on this plan. I've been on it for 3 months and have lost 50lbs!. Its very easy to follow and the results still amaze me every single weigh in. Definately go to the meeting and like they will tell you, it will be your last diet ever. It truly is life changing.
  • Welcome!! Personally I think the IP diet is perfect for a busy mom on the go. I'm a SAHM of 2 and with just a little prep-work I can keep everything ready to go at all times. I really enjoyed the IP food when I went to a clinic, but the cost was to substantial for us so I have switched to alternatives and still find the program fits very well with my lifestyle. GL with whatever you choose!
  • I would encourage you to attend the informational meeting. I have only been on this diet for 3 weeks but have lost 16 pounds so far. I like the protein packets and really like the fact that I get to eat real food for supper.

It's one diet that I plan to stick with until the weight is completely gone! Good luck!
  • IP has been the next best thing since sliced bread for me... I have been able to do much more than I ever thought possible... Give it a try! You wont regret it. FOR SURE!!

AGREED!!!!!....and this is coming from 2 people that have lost a total of over 200lbs, 100lbs each together!!!!!....it is WORTH it...YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!
  • I have been on just about every diet out there and truly IP is the best diet I have ever been on, the easiest and the most successful diet I have ever been on too. My doctor told me about this diet, and I trust my doctor so I trust her opinion.

I've lost just about 50 pounds in 3 1/2 months. This really will be your last diet.
  • Do it!! I have lost 30+ Lbs in less than 3 months, went from a size 22 to a size 18/16. I feel better than ever! The compliments people give you feel great, and motivate you to keep on! It is expensive, but the price also helps you stay on program. (Wouldnt want to waste ur $$$) Ideal protein did for me in 3 months, what starving myself and taking Pills didnt! It's hard work, and requires a whole lot of dedication, but its WORTH IT!!
  • The only thing I can say about this diet, is that I wish I found out about it sooner.

It's got to be the easiest/most rewarding diet out there. I've lost 14lbs in 4 weeks, and over 4 inches in my waist. In 4 weeks, I'm fitting into my smallest sizes clothes

It's easy and all of the food tastes good!

    Do it
  • I checked out the diet over a year ago and tried a ton of other things. I just started IP 7 days ago and am feeling great. It helps to know exactly what you are eating and when....YOU are in control of your diet and program. It is pricey, but there is an end point for the food costs and your coach will help you transition off the packets and into eating "regular" meals. Make sure to visit this community often...the support is fantastic! Good luck!
  • Of course you'll hear how much those of us here like it, its why were here. But the reality is that any diet, IP included, is up to you. You have to commit to the routine and the regiment of eating just what is included in the plan and not cheating. By the time I calculated the money I was spending eating out each week and even at home, the IP diet wasn't all that bad. But you're laying out about $100 for the packets/supplements so go in knowing what you are getting into. The commitment part is up to you though, but you'll find some good resources and people here.
  • I have been on IP for 4wks tomorrow.. In 3 wks I have lost 11.4lbs! This is crazy to me cause Ive been on every diet and have not lost at all. This diet really works if u stick with it and dont cheat!
  • Wow!

You are such an inspiration to me. I lost 94 lbs on IP and in the last year and during the holidays have put back 30 of those lbs. Today is my first day back on IP and I know I can do it. I have to learn how to maintain the loss and change bad habits. Can't believe how quickly I reverted to eating all those bad carbs and sweets again. You look fantastic!

YOu have to ALWAYS be aware of what goes into your mouth. It doesn't take but a blink of the eye to go back to eating your old way. I have about 4-6lbs left to go and yes I am scared to death but I KNOW I will NOT go back.....after loosing a total when I am done of 230lbs I be DA*N if I will put it back on!
  • I work full time out of the house, have 4 kids (ages 4,5,10 and 11) involved in different activties and am the PTO secretary at the school... I seriously thought I would not be able to do IP but it's TOTALLY Doable!

I do the ready to drink chocolate drinks for breakfast and lunch during the week and always have a bar in my purse fo those momments i get stuck somewhere for hours lol
