Truthfully, when i first started I thought to myself "how the **** am i gonna lose 150lbs?" but i just began small and went from there. 9 months later...i've lost 100 and only need to lose 47 more. you can do it.

My diet: Well I've been a vegan for 3 years and part of it contributed to my weight gain. I ate alot of processed foods (tofu burgers, faux meat etc) which even as a vegan can be bad for you. Now i maintain a vegan diet but with whole foods and fresh fruits, steamed veggies etc. I only have the processed foods about once a week now. However, I still count calories. I consume at least 1200cals a day.

For exercise, i do alot of cardio and plan on soon picking up some toning exercises. I work out everyday for at least 30mins of intense high impact cardio, but I also play tennis, swim, and practice martial arts, hit the gym and I walk everywhere. At the mall, I take the stairs....in the parking lot...i park far. I just do simple things that may seem insignificant, but aren't.

For the last two months or so, I have been practicing not eating anything after 6pm. Its probably the hardest part of my life right now but I has allowed me to avoid a plateau.

All of this that I do now was a work in progress. At the beginning I ate at whatever hour as long as it was within my calorie budget and I only worked out once a week. As time progressed I began to be more disciplined with myself within the boundaries I was comfortable with.
  • Thanks everyone for the nice compliments! I really couldn't have done this without you guys! You guys encourage me day in and day out.

I love your "get out of the 170's by xmas" challenge. I think I will attempt it too! It seems hard for me...since i am at 176...but it doesn't hurt to try.
