~10 lbs down by January 1st~

  • I've been waiting for this thread but since no one has started it I figured I would. Tomorrow is December 1st and I'd like to lose another 10 by the New Year!

  • Well, I'm in too but there is no way I could or would want to lose 10 lbs in a month. that's just too fast if it's all fat. So, I'm going to go for about 5. I weigh in kilograms and this morning I was 72.5 so I want to be under 70 kg by New Year's!!

  • Ok. I'm not trying to be snarky, but this is somewhat surreal for me. I don't have 10 pounds to lose any more! (at least I don't think so!). I managed last month to drop exactly 10 pounds which is the first time I managed it but had help at the beginning of the month with TTOM weight. Wow!

    But honestly, with my birthdyay, Christmas, two Christmas parties and new years eve, I hope just to maintain. I'll work on more loss, but I won't beat myself up with just maintaining in this month of abundance. That's a success in itself.
  • I'm in too! And I will be strong and on plan, even though its my birthday and Christmas. And several parties. I made it through a birthday and THREE Thanksgivings in November, and lost 10lbs, I can do it in December too!! ESPECIALLY since if (when!) I do, I'll finally be at 199. Onderland would be a pretty sweet 30th birthday present to myself, I think.

    With the holidays coming up, maintaining is probably a more realistic goal, like everyone is saying. But hey, like one of my college professors always said: shoot for the stars, if you want to reach the moon.

    My VERY ambitious goal is to be 159 by 1 Jan. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to start the new year no longer overweight. I lost 17lbs in October, can I do 15 in December?!?
  • Well I had a very disappointing 3 pound loss in November, so I'm going to be a little kinder to myself over the Christmas season and set a more attainable goal. My other resolution is to NOT WEIGH MYSELF until Christmas morning, so as to avoid the huge ups and downs of water weight that I seem to suffer, as well as the attendant cheating and loss of motivation that goes hand in hand with them.. so a bit of an experiment this month!

    With my daughter's birthday, Christmas with 3 little ones complete with baking cookies etc, and hosting a Christmas party for DH's work.. I'll be ecstatic to be down 7 this month.
  • I didn't lose a dang thing in November...but I didn't gain a dang thing either . I'm going to shoot for 10 again this month and see how it goes!

    It's my own fault. I became a little lax with tracking, or allowing myself "just a bit more"...or..."one piece of candy won't hurt". But not in December! This is the month were the candy, gift baskets, and parties are plentiful. Every morsel will be counted!

    I'm revved up! Let's do this thing!!!!!

  • So 10 lbs will put me into Onederland. I haven't seen a one in front of my weight since right after my daughter was born almost 5 years ago (and even that was very short lived).

    January first is also a few days before my husband should get home from his current deployment. He has no idea what I look like now. I'd secretly like to get down to 196.5 by the time he gets back. That way I could say I've lost 50 since the last time he saw me (I lost 13 this summer before he left).

    This will be hard ^^^^ because that's right in featherweight territory but I'm going to give it a chance and I've already been on plan 100% for the past few weeks (I started at 136)
