I feel like a HUGE idiot!

  • So...I've been on WW for 3 weeks....I'm into week 4 .... I've lost 5.4 lbs....which is good.....

Today, I was doing some research on dwlz.....foods I can eat.....etc

My family owns a pizza restaurant.....DH and I eat there probably 4 times a week....I usually eat a 3-5 point salad....and what I had calculated as 12 points in pizza (I get 25 points a day and 35 weeklies - I am not doing PointsPlus)

Anyways, today as I was lurking....I recalculated my pizza that I eat....and it isn't 12 points....its like 25 points! So how have I been losing weight eating 25 points in pizza 4 days a week ... and going over about 15 points 4 days a week?

I feel so dumb....I was saving all of my weeklies for Thanksgiving tomorrow....but if I recalculate my week (starts on Monday) I'll prlly have used them all....I just feel so discouraged
  • did you recalculate them as PointsPlus points? you can't mix plans.
  • nope...i recalculated with the old plan...i know that the values are different for each plan..so I always pay close attention when calculating
  • A lot of people misunderstand their plans at first. It's okay. Plus, you've still lost weight! And now that you have a more accurate estimate of how many points you've been eating, you should continue to lose!

If it really bothers you, you can stick to your points tomorrow. But if it would make you feel overly deprived, then it might not be such a bad thing to just have what you planned on having on Thanksgiving (within reason ), and then get back to your adjusted plan on Friday. After all, it's not like your leader's going to come chew you out (right?!). Worst case, you'll see a temporary increase in weight.
  • I remember doing that with bagels. They were more than twice what I thought. It happens, and thankfully you still lost. And now you have an easy "fix" to speed up your loss.
  • Please don't beat yourself up over a tiny mistake, because in the grand scheme of mistakes this really is a tiny one! I promise!

You were eating less food overall, and your body lost weight.

It's good that you caught this now so that you won't have problems with miscalculations in the future, but the fact is that so far you've been doing very well.

Count your points as best you can for today, and then just move forward. It won't take away all the good you've done for yourself these past few weeks!
  • If you are losing weight eating like that it's obviously working for you. The fact that they are different points than you thought doesn't mean anything to your body. If you stop losing, now you know what to cut back on.
