First update on Hazel

  • Well, by now she should be in surgery.

She arrived at the hospital she was scheduled to have her surgery at and lo and behold, all surgeries at that hospital have been canceled.

In Georgia (Atlanta area) there is a problem with blood collected from a couple of locations by the Red Cross, it has floaties in it. They think it came from the collection bags. The hospitals that get their blood from these locations are of course having a shortage. Other hospitals are fine, as their blood comes from other locations.

Hazel and her doctor's staff came up with another location for her surgery. This new hospital is one of the best in the area, so her care will be great.

The only drawback at the new hospital was, they were having a hard time finding a room for her to stay in after surgery. If I know Hazel, she will just tell them to wheel her to the lobby and she will sleep there

Once I hear more I will let everyone know.

  • I haven't heard anything yet from Hazel's hubby. I've been gone all afternoon, but no message left on the machine.

We also belong to a local email support group, no rumblings there either.

As soon as I hear, I will post and let ya know.
