Return on Investment...

  • Playing around with numbers this morning and thought this would be fun to figure out.

    Cost per pound lost:
cost of sign up + cost of supplements + (cost of food per week x number of weeks) / total weight lost
    $312 + 0 + ($84 x 1) /14
    $396/14

Cost per pound lost = $28.29

I expect that number to reduce over time .

Edit: Forgot to factor in supplements. I didn't have to buy any yet as they came with my initial sign up.
  • My return on investment.....

    PRICELESS!

Just remember the money you are saving on future medical care...and the higher price we have to pay for big girl clothes. Not to mention the self-esteem boost that every one of those pounds lost gives us! Some things you can't put a price tag on!

Besides, look at how much you probably spent on junk food.

I realized IP was a significant expense, but thankfully we can afford it by making some changes to priorities and, I AM WORTH IT!
  • I wasn't complaining at all . The cost is not an issue. I just thought it was interesting to figure out.
  • Honestly, IP is actually saving me money when I compare it to how often I used to eat out...

Thanks Redhead.....that is awesome to see!
  • A bit deceiving though, those numbers. I pay $98/week for IP food, that doesn't include supplements. If you excercise 3 times a week, you have to add in at least another $33. I paid $215 for the start-up week, which included my shaker, some salt, supplements, and 1 week of food. Those other diet plans included all of the food intake for the month. The IP figure didn't include the 4 cups of daily veggies, the salad, or the 8 oz of daily protein, etc.

Not trying to be a Negative Nellie, just don't really believe those numbers are factual. I don't care what it costs at this point, it works, and is worth it as long as I can afford it. If money gets tight, I'm definitely going the alternative route. Until then, I'm sticking with IP. I love it!

The WW does not include the cost of your food, nor does it include the cost of the additional veggies that you are suppose to eat on the other plans. Plus, the numbers are based off a male so for females it will be higher.
It all comes down to what do you want to spend you money on....being unhealthy or being healthy. Congrats to all of you for choosing healthy!
