First Mini-goal completed! 30 pounds gone!

  • About two years ago, I weighed myself and realized I was 278 pounds. I had seen 280 on the doctor's scale. I knew I needed to do something. By caorie counting, I got down to 252 before I got lazy and slowly fell off plan. I never gained it all back, but would get to 260, get back down to 251 or 252, and slowly go off plan again. I started to think that the 240's were just a mirage and no matter what I did I would be stuck going no lower than 250. My goal was 10% which would happen at 249 so it was so incredibly frustrating getting so close and not succeeding. Last month, I was 263 and knew I needed to do something or I would be right back where I started. This time around, I decided to go low carb after reading a lot about the theories behind it. And this time, I succeeded in my 10% goal! I've lost 30 pounds (now 32!) and finally broken into the 240's. For some reason it has clicked this time, and its the first time I actually believe I can succeed. Knowing that I can share all this with the people on this site and they understand keeps me on track and makes me feel like I can do it too. I still don't see any change in the mirror but I know its harder for us to see it and my mom and sister swear they can see a difference. Anyway, just wanted to share how excited I am! My next mini-goal is 220 which is the weight that has been on my driver's license since I got it at 16. Hopefully I'll get to be posting about that soon!
