Feeling Guilty For Having An Easier Week.

  • Hello!
I have been working out steadily for 6 days a week for almost 3 months now, but this week life has gotten to me! Many things have happened that have just drained me, so I decided that I was going to take 3 days off this week, catch up on some sleep/rest and then go hard next week. The days off I have scheduled are the days I am at work, which I have many projects on the go and will be constantly on my feet and running around. I have been trying to tell myself it is okay to have a easier week, but I feel so guilty for doing this. I think I am most worried that this is going to set my weight loss back.

I just needed to get that out of my system.
    Thanks for reading!

  • There's nothing wrong with planning a few restful days. In fact, if what we're after is a healthier life, then knowing that you're going to need some rest -and- planning for that... is healthy!

You're balancing what needs to be balanced. As long as your plans include your exercise for the day after the 3 rest days (so you won't be tempted to stay away from exercise too long), then you're golden.

You've lost 25 pounds. That's not going to change after those three rest days. No guilt needed.

  • Look at it like this...for months and months you cook every meal at home, one night you decide you want to go out to eat and order something healthy.

There is nothing wrong with that, just like there is nothing wrong with resting for a few days, as long as you make the commitment to get back to it! Look at how well you've done so far!
