Hello, random internet people Seems funny to ask y'all for opinions, but I am having trouble deciding on a very, very simple matter.

To color our names, or to not color our names, that is the question. We're having a pretty bright wedding, with a dark teal as the bridesmaid dresses and bright orange accents (flowers, oranges in centerpieces). My soon to be FIL is thrilled that we apparently picked Miami Dolphins colors

Anyhow, our invitations match our color scheme pretty closely (except the orange on the invites is a bit more subdued). I just can't decide if they look better with our names in a matching color or in the same color as the invitation text.

Sorry if these are too big:
    (I took down the images)

Note that the paper of the invite is not bright white, it's ecru linen. This is just a digital sample. It'll look better as actual paper with mats, and the final layer of blue is a pocketfold. I'm also wondering if we should change the color of the mat between the invite and the floral card... But dunno what I'd change it to. Hrm.

Anyone with a better artistic eye have any advice for me?
  • I like the first one better
  • First one better too They're gorgeous!
  • Both are nice, but I prefer the 2nd.
  • I like them both, but if I had to chose I'd do the secound one.
  • I like the second one.
  • another vote for the second one! They both look nice, but I think having the names the same color as the invitation text looks more elegant.
  • I like the first one better, but the 2ond isn't bad. Looks like you have a good choice either way.
  • What about ALL teal text?

Because I think I would prefer that over the mix&match thing. There's already a lot going on with the departure from the "traditional" wedding invite.

    A.
  • Ooh, some good input here. It's funny that you guys are pretty much split down the middle! I'll ask my vendor to send an all-teal proof and see what I think.
  • I think you should use ALL one color................great invitation!!
  • I would go with all one color, either like the second one you posted or all in teal as astrophe suggested. I think the borders being the same color looks nice, I don't think you should make them different, but if you decide to go with all teal lettering you might try orange borders.

Agreed--and beautiful colors by the way!
  • I love the invitations, very well done! And I vote to #2 as well, elegant!

Your wording reminds me of our invitations: Because you have shared in our lives we ask that you share in our wedding.....Lynn and Andy, together with their parents............

And you are getting married the same day as my boss!!
  • I like the first one better if you are counting votes.
