Fried pickles?

  • So I'm just wondering if anyone has tried to make fried pickles, but with egg and parm cheese for breading?
  • No, but it sounds delicious. I love half sour pickles. Do you have a recipe? I've had fried pickles in a bar, but they were def. not SBD friendly.
  • I just started sbd yesterday, so I've been looking for good recipes, I keep finding Parmesan crusted chicken, so I'm thinking maybe it will work on pickles! I'm going to try it, fried pickles are one of my fav things.
  • OMG they're awesome I just dipped pickle slices (the chip kind) then dipped into mixture of grated parm cheese, garlic salt and cayenne pepper. Then I fried them in hot canola oil for about a min per side... Dipped them in ranch...
  • Oops I dipped them in egg first!
  • "Fried" sound delicious but not SBD friendly. I've made "fried" green beans in the oven before. I think the recipe would work if you cook them in an oven and not canola oil.
  • Not on SBD but chiming in, because I ADORE fried pickles...

I've previously made a version using cornmeal and baking them in the oven, so I'm sure baking parm-crusted pickles would probably work. You'd just have to watch 'em to make sure the parm doesn't get totally toasted.
  • Boo, I thought since you could have canola oil in phase 1 it would be fine
I'll try them in the oven next time!

Do you happe to have the "fried green bean" recipe? I've been craving the fried green beans from Friday's but haven't found a good SB friendly version.

  • I adore fried pickles so I am def gonna give this one a try. TY!
  • Is this considered to be PH 1 friendly?
  • Yes. It is a recipe in Ph 1 Misc.
