Interested in this diet, but can't have ANY artificial sweeteners. Any suggestions?
Hi folks,
My OB/GYN is considering putting me on this diet to compliment my weight loss efforts as I go through infertility treatments. I'm willing to try it, but my issue is that I can't have ANY artificial sweeteners because they trigger migraines for me.
Has anyone successfully circumvented this issue? Thanks so much for your time
All the products contain some form of artificial sweetner. So, I don't know how it would work?
Maybe someone else with more knowledge will chime in..but I can't think of a single one that doesn't contain some...
Thanks for the reply. I'm considering using a whey-protein powder in lieu of "packets" and following the rest of the guidelines, then testing for ketosis to see if it can work that way.
I don't know if you have to add artificial sweeteners or that is already includes them. If you're adding, try Agave syrup-similar to honey but without the taste. I use it in my coffee and gave up spenda all together bc of it. I dunno if that helps!
It's hard to know because I can't find the nutritional information for the products- but what I glean from this message board is that the products already come with artificial sweeteners.
The omelet and maybe the soups don't have artificial sweetener. Probably the ridges and savory puffs are ok too. Google "ideal to go" then check out shopping cart and look at the products. When you click on the pictures, they should have nutritional information.
I know there are whey protein powders out there that are sweetened with stevia and very limited amounts of sugar which would be good to supplement. Not sure if stevia is a problem for you too. Good luck!

I get terrible migranes from nutra-sweet, but the sucrolose in IP products have never given me a headache.....I would end up in the hospital with migranes from nutri-sweet.
I lived in VT my whole life....living in Saratoga for the last decade because of a job.
Designer whey has a few flavors that are sweetened with stevia. Check out netrition dot com and then look for designer whey. French vanilla and double chocolate are both all natural.
Thanks, ladies! I found a stevia-sweetened whey powder (that tastes surprisingly good with just water) so I'm going to try using that and the other parameters for phase 1.
