Apparently cheese has a substance in it that's addictive. The longer you stay away from it, the less you'll crave it (in my experience).
That said, vegan cheeses are improving, and your tastebuds change over time, too. Things I used to think were weird, I now LOVE. I like but don't love Follow Your Heart Cheese, and really actively like Daiya shredded cheese. It melts, although it doesn't stretch, and I like the taste, especially in quesadillas, which I guess I don't eat much now because the tortillas are not a good use of my limited calories.
Agree that vegweb has tons of good recipes, with lots of reviews.
