Qnexa Fda Approval....

  • Has anyone tried this?My hubby is starting it in 2 weeks...the pharmacy does not have it in yet...Combo of Topamax and Phentermine. HMMMMM....
  • I thought Qnexa had been rejected by the FDA, and they were still conducting clinical trials so they could try again? Is your husband part of a clinical trial? I might have missed it being approved.
  • Qnexa is not currently FDA approved.

  • Topamax can interfere with BC pills working correctly. Women taking it who are sexually active and not trying to conceive need to use a second method of birth control. The doctor who prescribed Topamax to me forgot to mention that so I feel the need to type it when ever it comes up.
  • The article I have says it was just approved. Our pharmacy is getting it. Unless something changed. No he is not part of the clinical trial. He researched the web and found out about it. He took the article to our Dr. He has High BP and 80lbs to lose. I will try to find the approval of it and put up the link.
  • I just reviewed the FDA site, and they're still listing it as unapproved. Perhaps your physician is prescribing it off-label for him. The next review by the FDA to consider approval is 7/15.

There's nothing in the New York Times about approval.

Two posts at 3FC and they're both about this drug--is "your" pharmacy selling it, perhaps?
