  • So about 8 years ago after having my son my husband made a deal with me when I said I wanted to lose the weight. That if I did he would let me max out my old navy card (which includes gap and banana republic and some shoe stores) to buy a new wardrobe. So yeah 8 years latter here I am still fat and it never happened. Well yesterday he says I can already see a difference in you and you are doing so well! Do you remember the deal we made? I said no what deal and he told me again. He asked what my old navy card limit was when I paid it off and cut it up and I said 3500. He said that he will start saving now and when I lose the weight I want to and am ready he will keep his promise and give me the 3500 instead of the 2700 in cash so I dont have to use a credit card! I was so excited!! I dont have many clothes because I have refused to buy them since I have been big I buy what I need and no more then that. Its pretty embarrassing sometimes but it is what it is. I just am so excited to have a closet full of nice clothes again its been YEARS. I honestly cant believe my hubby remembered and brought it up lol. He just knew that would be one more push in the right direction! Its sure not the most important thing and I probably wont spend that much money on clothes because the is pretty frivolous but its sure nice to know that I can if I want to. How ever I think part of it must go to a kick a** gift for such a great man and some sexy lingerie too! HEHE sorry I just had to share!
  • What a good man you have! I love this.
  • aaw that's so sweet
  • *sneaks into thread, wondering how to get a hold of this guy*!
  • lol shcirerf

    How awesome Brooklyn!
  • that is so fantastic of your husband!!

my fiance has promised me a set of professional photos when i get to goal weight, so we have some nice ones to make up for the 'fat photos' from the wedding in a few weeks. i'm looking forward to that

here's to having a good man!
  • Now that's what I call being supportive! hahaha
  • I love that idea-that is good support. Besides having a hot new bod, you'll have a really wonderful wardrobe
  • We still have a photo shoot coming from our wedding photographers. I think I'm going to swap it to an anniversary shoot - since I'll have lost a lot more weight by then!
  • Youre very forunate! some men are get so insecure when their women start losing weight.

You are very right and trust me I thank God daily that I have such a suportive husband because I know there are a lot out there that are not and that makes me so mad because this is so hard you need the support! I dont get much of it from anyone else so its really nice the he is trying so hard to help keep me going. He knows how serious I am this time I think thats why hes putting in more of an effort to make sure I know hes there for me. I really cant wait to be where I want for him too I would sure like to have a nice body to share with my man . With all of the other reasons for weight loss this one is pretty high on my list because I know he doesnt care how fat I am (well he still loves me either way) and hes had me this way for most of our relationship but I want him to have a hot wife he deserves it lol.
  • Does he have a brother??? Just kidding, but that is very nice and you are a lucky, deserving lady. Congratulations on your loss thus far!!

    That made me giggle.

And stasiagurl91 makes an excellent point, some guys just get so insecure when their S.O. starts getting hotter. You'd think that would be something to make everyone happy, ya know?

In a perfect world it would work that way. I'm quite thankful I have one of the secure, supportive ones who wants me to lose weight only because he knows it would make me happy. If I didn't care it wouldn't even be an issue.

It's nice to hear about supportive significant others and family members. So often we hear about people belittling others and hampering weightloss attempts, even if unintentional.

Edited to add: My husband has promised to design a tattoo to cover my entire back once I reach my final goal. That way I'll be a walking canvas for his amazing artwork. It will end up costing several thousand dollars!
