  • Hey all - this is my first post, but I have been creeping on all of you for a couple of weeks now. Basically - I started my weight loss June 2010, dropped 8 lbs right away, got stuck at 178 from October - January 2011. Lost 2-3 lbs each month since then by working out 4 plus times a week at the gym (cardio/pilates/core) and counting calories.

I feel this is the perfect time to start posting on the forum so that I can set my April goals. I'm 38 btw.

    - drop 6 lbs
    - up my cardio from 30 minutes to 35
    - begin to stengthen and tone my legs and booty by incorporating squats, lunges, and other moves into my free weight routine (my abs and arms are doing good!)
  • I want to get out of the 180s before my birthday on 5/1 (my 30th!).

I also want to finish week 2 of C25K -- I told myself I could have 2 weeks to finish every level.
  • I want to get out of the 150s, I have been stuck in them since the beginning of December. I also need to up my exercise - ideally walking 3x a week and at least one day of Pilates in addition to my class once a week. I bought a couple bikini tops and I'd really like to be able to wear them, not that it feels like warm weather will ever come Good luck everyone! We can do this!
  • Oh Jelma I want to get out of the 250s!!!! Maybe we BOTH get get to X40 something. That is my goal.....
  • Hi, hope its not too late to join in the goal setting for April!

I'd like to lose 5 lbs this month
Seriously go to the gym 3-4 times a week
And get in another 16 ounces of water a day
  • New here. Can't think of a better way to start posting than by joining you all in April goals!

My goal is to just GET STARTED!! LOL

I'd like to be under 190 by the end of the month and be doing regular daily exercise. The only time I have for exercise is early in the morning before I get the kids up for school and get ready for work. That is SO hard for me. I'm already getting up at 5:30 to get everybody out the door on time. I keep setting the alarm for earlier, but the snooze button keeps winning.

    Good luck everybody!!
  • Welcome Dilli Doo!

How's everyone doing so far? I am on track - walked at lunch twice so far this week, worked out at home on Tuesday, have class tonight. I have also been pretty good about tracking online with WW. I cancelled my membership effective at the end of the month so I have been trying to get back into tracking so I can be successful on my own.

I have a new goal for April in addition to exercise - cut back on the alcohol! I think my recent indulgences have been hampering my weight loss effort.
  • ^ Change "alcohol" to "soda," and I'm with you. I drink waaaaaaay too much Diet Coke now, after kicking the habit a couple of years ago.

Not happy with my weight last week *at all* -- but trying to do better this week.
  • I know what you mean about the drinking too much alcohol, Jelma! I have one to two glasses of wine almost every night. Maybe that's part of my problem!
  • My goal is to just be serious about getting started.
I won't set a number of pounds but I'd like to go to the gym 3-4 times a week in the morning before work. I used to do it, so I know its possible!

Also, we just purchased a recumbent bike (an excellent deal at Costco). Its been here for just two days and my goal is to use it 5 times a week for 30 minutes while watching television. The additional goal is to get my fiance on it for a 1/2 per day as well.

And to not give in to my Coke habit. I love love love regular soda. Its my biggest weakness. I have stocked my office kitchen area with fancy flavored teas.... I hope that these will curb my desire for the white stuff (aka sugar).

Next month I'll set numerical goals!

Yeah, I lost a large portion of my weight last November when a didn't drink for a month. This week I am laying off the booze, at least until Saturday

NYGiantsGirl- I am not a huge soda drinker but recently discovered a love for Coke Zero which totally surprised me because I despise most other diets.

Last week I was successful in hitting my goals - I walked 3 times and did pilates 3 times, which was one more than I was shooting for. This week I am going to shoot for the same.

Hope everyone else is starting out the week well!
  • Hi all!
I'd love to join you on this thread.
    My goals are:
    1- get to 275 before April 30
2- i've joined the 100 push up challenge - so my goal is to stick to it
3- go for a walk or go swimming with my daughter (she's 2) Tues and Thurs evenings - I want her to grow up with an active mommy, not a couch potato.

Here's to us and our goals!
  • Hi Laura, welcome!

I think I will join you on the 100 pushup challenge, I went to the website and it looks very doable. My upper body strength isn't the best though I have been doing planks recently and I have noticed it has really made a difference.
  • Jelma - that's great! check out the thread for the push up challenge in Chicks up for a challenge! There's lots of good tips and advice, and super support from everyone else who is doing it!
  • I have three April goals which I really hope I can make!

Finally get on the “Top 5 Member” board at my gym. I want to be one of the people who visited the gym the most days in April. So far I only missed 1 day.

Fit into the size 8 pants that have been hanging in my closet for a few weeks. They are blood flow stopping tight right now.

Resist eating peeps and other Easter related candy cruelly stacked next to the salad bar at my favorite grocery store.
