I've just started doing 30DS again so I'm in a similar situation as I'm planning on adding more cardio as well. When I did 30DS about a year ago I was doing it religiously in the mornings and I added extra cardio in the afternoons but it wasn't until after the 1st week and it was gradual (3x a week/ 4x a week/ daily).
I think it just depends on how active you are already and how long you've been shredding for. If your muscles need the recovery time at first, I think that's normal. You should know/feel when you can do more.
