There's a contest going on the radio right now for weight loss. Whoever has the most weight loss % wins a $10,000 grand prize (plus a free 1 year gym membership, etc).

So I entered today! I went down to the gym that is hosting it; got my weight, waist measurement, and photos taken. I have 12 weeks before I weigh in.

I've been kind of slacking lately since summer (moving provinces, starting a new job, new boyfriend = dating, etc) that I have gained almost all of my weight back from what I lost. So I needed a swift kick in the butt and some motivation... and $10G sounds quite like motivation to me!!! I also signed up for a gym membership because since I've moved, I canceled my old membership in my last city and I just haven't gotten around to getting a new membership (plus I was saving up money for my expensive dog). I'm really excited; since I live in a bigger city now, I have a bigger gym to attend to. My membership includes - coed, womens only, steam room, infrared sauna, outside swimming pool (when open), and free training classes. I also get a consultation appointment where they do my measurements, etc.

So cool! Way to take the initiative! I'm in a contest right now that is 8 weeks long through my boot camp! Although your prize is umm AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGG (and im slightly jealous haha) I'm VERY excited for mine as well! There are 1st 2nd and 3rd prize winners along with superlatives that we can win (most improved, best team spirit etc.). I am going for teh gusto and number 1 prize of a year free unlimited boot camp, new running shoes that were just released, 100 dollar giftcard, an hour massage, boot camp gear and an ipod =) ALthough I'd be cool with 2nd place too!haha.

10,000 bucks is DEF a swift kick in the butt! I def wish you MUCH success! Let's see if we can't keep each other motivated to WIN these challenges!

WOW what a motivator!! I would like to think that "getting healthy" or "increasing my lifespan" would be enough to motivate me, but dang it - $10,000 would beat those as far as getting my butt off the couch good luck!! Krizstyling - the funny thing is, I was already in a contest too. At work, about 15 of us got together and put in $20 into a pot. Some sorta deal, 1st place gets most of the money, 2cnd and 3rd. I thought "hey a couple extra hundred wouldn't be bad" and then I heard this on the radio today!!!

I've been having a bit of trouble this past week getting back into it, even with the couple hundred motivation. But now $10,000.... I have to do more than try now!

Good luck! I'm just wrapping up a three month wellness competition at my work. I have to give a presentation Thursday, then Friday of next week is the last day. I'm so nervous. The top 3 teams win a vacation to Phoenix, San Diego, Las Vegas, South Beach or Denver (your choice of which city). I want this so bad!

Which one of those cities doesn't fit Nothing wrong with Denver- I live here and love it and oversell it to pretty much everyone I meet, but Vegas? Go to Vegas!

Sweet I'm in Calgary too. I might sign up for this! a big might haha I'm signed up with a different gym so going to world health club might be too much effort for me haha. But it might be a bigger motivation for my buddy to do this and for him to start losing weight.

The contest's entry deadline is at the end of this month so I'd suggest it to him soon so he has enough time to enter!

Vegas actually has no appeal to me. And I don't know if I'd like South Beach either. I love Phoenix and Denver and would love to go to either, but feel compelled not to pick them for this because I've been several times before. Also, since I have family in both of those cities, I feel like I'd end of spending most of my time at their homes, wasting my free hotel! So San Diego will probably be my choice (if we win! Presentation went well so my hopes are high). I've only been once, for a day, so I didn't get to see much.

He won't enter...he's has excuses. I hate people and their excuses because he really needs to change his eatting habits...

Lame - there is no excuse in the world to not take the possibility of winning $10G !
