Try a Tri...who me?

  • I am so excited...I have signed up to do a Try a Tri on July 17th. I am a strong swimmer so I'm not worried about that, although swimming in a lake is SO different than a pool. Even so, I am confident I'll be fine with that. The 13 miles of biking...not sure how this will be for me at this point. Of course, I've done zero training at this point...just decided yesterday that I was in. And on the 5K...think I'll be fine for this minimum walking, but I believe I'll be able to run some or all of it by the end of my training. I'm just so excited that I said YES. I'm still so overweight, but I am moving in the right direction. I want to be an active healthy person...so I am doing it! Ready or not...here I come! Just wanted to share!
  • Yay! You will have a *LOT* of fun! I love tris! Everyone is really encouraging. I'm still always at the back of the pack and I still love it.
  • That's so GREAT, I think I'll see if there is one in my area I could try

    Oooooooooooooo, I'm sooo excited now!!
  • That sounds awesome! I'm definitely working up to a tri at some point. Right now I'm doing spin class and couch to 5k. Like you, I'm pretty comfortable with the swim part.
  • it's a great goal and you have plenty of time.
I did the trek two years ago and it was an amazing experience. good for you
  • SGeranium...did you do the one in Chelan?
  • Not Chelan. It was in Seattle. the Trek uses the same course as the Danskin. Where is the one you are doing?
  • It is in Chelan...July 15-17. I'm real excited too. should be fun!
