  • JoJo, I just read your post on last week's thread. What wonderful neighbors you have. Your daughter must have been a very special person. And, obviously you and your husband are loved as well.
  • Vickie, I have both Christmas decorations and three (3!) Hannukah menorahs in my home. The menorahs are a tribute to our common roots and to my late husband and my late brother-in-law, both of who were Jewish and were major positive influences on me and my family.

I miss the multiculturalism of Toronto where one hears all about Diwali, Kwanzaa, the Solstice, as well as Christmas.

Sloan, I hope that you and your family have many fewer funerals to attend this year. It's been a hard year for you.

And, Jojo, you are blessed with good neighbors.

I won't likely be on much today. I'm away for breakfast, then in the kitchen until 5PM when the family arrives.
  • I got up early this morning and cleaned out my clothes closet, painted a little on a new painting I am doing, and now I'm snug in my bed watching a Christmas movie. We go to the funeral at 1:00 then I'll be doing some Christmas shopping online. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. According to Amazon and Zappos, it's not too late to order for Christmas. I hope that's true.

    Have a great day, chicks!
  • Merry Christmas and A Happy and Healthy New Year and I'll see you guys next year.

Sorry I was MIA over the weekend, but I was so busy trying to get the last min. gifts & clothes packed.Than this morning after brunch I went to the cemetery and now I going out with my friend Alice for lunch at the 99 Restaurant.

Tomorrow I will be on the run also and won't be able to post. I leave on Tues Morning at 6:30 heading for Boston where I will meet the train to NY,and than across to Long Island.

Will post when I get back, and before my surgery.

Merry Christmas again, and thanks for being my cyber friends Love & Hugs [/B]
  • Hi there. We are home from church and lunch. My gf was coming out for us to shoot, but I called and cancelled. It's too cold and windy out there to be flinging arrows. We may do some flinging tomorrow.

JoJo, I'm still thinking of your neighbors. They must be wonderful people. I'm thinking they must be mirroring you and Mark. You are wonderful people/neighbors, too. If there's anything we here can do for you, please let us know. We love you.

Rhonda, no woe about you, Cuz. You're doing great. You're aware of what you're eating and are making good choices. Like Vickie said, you could have had lasagna, brownies--and more. I'll bet you'll easily exercise the brownie off in no time at all.

Vickie, I wish we lived in the same town, too. You have so much enthusiasm for the holidays. Brings back memories when I had more. for wi tomorrow.

Sloan, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. This has been a tough year on you and your family for sure.

Did ya'll notice JoJo has met her Christmas goal? JoJo, you rock!
  • I haven't read the post but wanted to tell about my day for prayers..

DH woke up to shower for church and was too weak to shower
or walk around. He hasn't felt well all week but this extreme weakness was sudden. We decided it was too urgent to wait til Monday so we went to the ER.
All the test they did came back good except that he is anemic and has low platelet counts ..They also said the blood cells show a abnormal shape.
They said it could be caused by a virus but needs to be followed up on.
Then they mentioned that leukemia needs to be ruled out..
His iron is usually high so being low is strange

We aren't expecting something like that but are seeing the specialist
    tomorrow & his normal Dr.

We had planned a tree decorating day today , so I have no decorations up .
When medical stuff is going on it is hard to worry about normal Christmas
    activities.
  • Nancy, I'm already prayin' !! There aren't any words to say to make you feel better just know that we are all here for you. Every time you have a negative thought or worry, turn it into a prayer. God will give you the peace you need until you get your questions answered. Please let us know how things are going. Those "popcorn" prayers will be poppin' all over the place
  • Thanks Sloan.. that means a lot...
I may not be on in the morning but if anyone thinks about it
please let the group know I would love to have their prayers..
  • Nancy, you have my prayers. I hope Robin gets the best report possible.
  • Nancy, I will pray for Robin in my nightly prayers and every time I think of him. I know you must be frightened. Remember to breathe.
  • Nancy, we're hoping for only the best....
  • Quote: Hi there, Chickies. What a treat getting to hear from each of you. I just got here from our CORE recipe thread on CORE soups. Saw some good recipes but got sad seeing most were posted by former Chickies. I miss those ladies and wish they would return.
    Hi!

  • Kathy!!!!!! Hi there! It's great seeing you here. How are you doing? I've missed you.

What are the hats in your avatar? They look really cute. Did you make them? (I'm loaded with questions, aren't I?)
  • Hi Kathy! Good to hear from you. How's things? You can see I'm back in Texas now, and retirement is grand.

    Rhonda
  • Hey Kath. I was just thinking of you right before I came here. I was on Etsy looking for quilts. Hope you're well.
