Did my own little triathlon...and you can too!

  • I had so much fun at the gym this morning! Yes, fun! LOL!

A group of us met on the treadmills at 5:00 AM. We ran 25 minutes, then did an hour long spin class and finished off in the pool! It was awesome! Exhilarating!

So if you would like to compete in a triathlon, but aren't quite there yet, do it yourself at your own pace! It feels amazing.
  • I did this one day over the summer. I swam in the morning. Then biked to the track and ran a bit. Then biked more. It was so fun!
  • I love doing this in the summer too... Run or bike in the AM, swim, run or bike in the PM...

It is definitely exhilarating I always feel so empowered when I have days like this ...
  • Woooo! Nice job!

BTW they have really short Tris too for people who want to just try one out... Usually called a super-sprint They usually are something like: .25 mile swim - 6.2 mile bike and 1.55 mile run. Of course doing your own on your own is also cool, but just wanted to throw that out there for people thinking of "maybe" doing one at some point.
  • I missed the Turkey Trot 5K yesterday in my town, but I went on my own 5 Mile Pumpkin Pie Power Walk and kicked butt! I kept a 4 mph pace the whole time. I even ran a few times!

I love making up my own sporting events.
  • In our town they have an event that has what they call Try-a-Tri... I think it's 300m swim, 10k bike ride, 5k run... I've never done it because the swim is in the river and I don't like weeds, fish, slimy stuff yuk...
  • "Pumpkin Pie Power Walk". That's awesome!

I'd LOVE to swim in a river some time! Yeah, I don't like the ick factor either, but the "awesomeness" of it would far outweigh the ick for me. What I'm afraid of is the crowd and there's not much I could do about that. And especially in the water.
  • That sounds great! I did that too today. Body Sculpting class, 20 mins on treadmill, then Zumba class. I feel great!

    Yay for you, too!
  • I would LOVE to try one of those mini-tris. Only problem is that I can't swim. Unless it's the back stroke. I love my back to back classes at the gym. Makes me feel like I accomplished something.
