  • This is it, one of the 2 or 3 hardest weeks of the year when you aren't following the typical US diet. Whether your plan is to take the day off Thursday, indulge in just one off plan meal or one food or to stay on plan right through there are 6 other days filled with temptations and barriers to exercise. So stop in and make a plan for your day and support one another. We can all use it!

It's time for a new week of talking On-Plan! This is the place for South Beach meal plan and food support, encouragement and questions.

Anyone, from any phase (1, 1.5, 2, 3, etc.) can post, and those who are new to 3FC are especially encouraged to do so!
This thread is for questions, sharing advice and strategies, and encouraging each other to stay on plan. It is not for chatting about daily life unrelated to this topic. Members have indicated that they would like to have chatting remain in the Daily Thread, so any posts that are off topic or chatty will be moved by the mods to the Daily.

Because people from different parts of the plan are posting here, it'll help everyone if you indicate what phase you're in when you post. Thanks!
While you may certainly find, from time to time, the need to ask for help after going off plan, remember that this thread is about staying on plan. When you share details of off plan foods you've eaten, it can upset, tempt, and otherwise frustrate other members, so please keep these details to a minimum.

So, share with us: How are you staying on plan this week?
  • The next several weeks are going to be pretty challenging with all the holiday goodies around, but I'm planning ahead to help ward off any straying. I cooked extras yesterday so I'd have yummy leftovers for lunches and my supper this week, and I'm making a couple of SBD friendly recipes to go along with our Thanksgiving dinner so I can eat along with everyone else and not feel deprived.
  • Are we posting food logs here? If not, feel free to move this post:

    Monday
    B: yogurt with flax seeds
    S: 15 almonds
L: split pea soup; carrots; cheese stick
    D: spagetti squash casserole
  • I finally figured out what I'm bringing to T-day dinner - roasted butternut squash and brussels sprouts with shallots. I'm kind of glad that we're not having thanksgiving this year because (aside from the obvious), we won't have leftovers to call to me all the time.

My son is stressing me out today. I don't know what his problem is, but the non-stop tantrums over everything are just driving me to the brink. My older one never did this. Time to re-evaluate our game plan, I guess.

Also, TOM rolled into town today. Big spike on that scale this morning.

    -
1: egg whites, ezekiel toast w/ almond butter
2: tabbouleh with sprouts and tomatoes
    3: apple
4: grilled chicken, spaghetti squash and kale gratin
  • Just a small part of our family will be together at our house this Thanksgiving so we have decided to order dinner from one of the grocery stores. What a relief not to have to do all the cooking. I plan on eating turkey, grn salad and whatever SB veg I decide on. Then, all leftovers except for a plate for DH are going out the door with family as they leave.

    Yesterday phase 1.5

    B - 2 eggs, 1 turkey sausage, ff milk
    L - 1 string cheese, apple
    S - V-8
D - Leftover lentil turkey sausage soup and grn salad w/lf ranch dressing
S - Greek plain yogurt w/sf jam, pecans, splenda
  • I've had such great plans of where I want to be next week, next month..... and I haven't made it. I've finally realized that it's today I have to work on, not next week. So, if I can do today, I'll choose to be happy

    B: HB egg, ww toast
    L: Pork roast, broccoli
    S: almonds
    D: stir-fry chicken w/ vegies
  • I'm indulging on Turkey Day thank you very much!

    1 tangerine
    3 pieces of chicken

making a big pot of your soup tomorrow!
  • Turkey day is a free day for me, but plan on getting right back to SB on Friday!
  • feeling a little less bloaty today. I find that sweating a LOT makes battling the bloat a bit easier. Yesterday was a trifecta of stress relief - a kickboxing/step class, a cardio circuit training class and 3.1 miles on the treadmill. i was an oozing pile of mush afterward, but I felt so good.

Today is more of the same - DS1 is sick now (I knew it would make the rounds) so little things around the house and then gym this afternoon. Running and then yoga. WhooHOO! for Yoga Tuesdays!

    -
    P 2

1: greek yogurt with peaches, 1/2 grapefruit, tea
2: spaghetti squash and spinach gratin stuffed into a portabella mushroom cap (delicious!)
    3: green smoothie
4: asian peanut butter turkey tenderloin, roasted brussels sprouts, broccoli

exercise: 45 min. yoga, 60 min. treadmill
  • Zef, you are one exercising fool! Between you and Nat, I don't know who is getting more time in at the gym.

    Yesterday, phase 1.5

    B - Mock pancakes, V-8, 2 turkey bacon.
L - 4 boiled ham deli slices stuffed w/cabbage and hummus.
    S - 3 Brazil nuts
D - Lentil turkey sausage soup and cucumber
S - Greek plain nf yogurt w/sf jam
  • Turkey day will be free for me also. I'll be OP except for potatoes and pie.

    B: 2 poached eggs
    S: latte w/ 1% milk
L: roast pork w/ cranberry sauce, veggies
    s: V8
    D: split pea soup

    Tae-bo tonight
  • Today's my first day on phase 1 and I messed up by making dinner for lunch but as long as I eat the lunch for dinner it should be ok. I borrowed the book from my mother in law so my meal is pretty much from the book plan except I made chicken instead of rosemary salmon because the fish prices were really high at the store and I like chicken better.

    Breakfast:

    Two mini vegetable quiches
    Vegetable Juice
And a mug of the yummiest tea Celestial Seasonings Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride

I put a tsp of sugar twin and a splash of skim milk in that tea and it was heavenly

    Snack: String Cheese

    Lunch:

    Rosemary Chicken Breast
Asparagus with a little lemon juice
Salad with lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and cucumber
    Water
  • B-pb and greek yogurt
    S-off plan
    L-spaghetti squash and kale gratin
D-Lemon herb chicken, kale chips, roasted beets (looked it up and found out they weren't on plan, but oh well)
