Bioslife 2

  • Anybody tried this? My friend is taking it and losing a ton of wieght. I searched on the net and it *sounds* safe but you never can tell about these things.

It's supposed to help lower cholesterol and control blood sugar levels.

  • It does sound safe for reducing cholesterol, but appears unnecessarily expensive. 60 packets costs between $42 and $56 dollars. Each packet contains only 4 1/2 grams fiber. According to their claims, most people get about 15 grams max from their diets, so they recommend taking enough of their product to reach the goal of 20-35 grams daily. This could be an average of 3 or 4 packets per day.

I've battled high cholesterol for many years, regardless of what foods I consume. I've had 3 physicians in the past to recommend cheap Metamucil for the type of fiber necessary to reduce cholesterol. Take that along with a good multi-vitamin and you'll have more than they offer, but at a fraction of the cost. No matter which method you choose, you still have to follow a healthy diet for it to work.

In addition, Bios Life 2 can help curb your appetite by giving you a pleasant, full feeling when consumed before meals.

There is nothing at all in that product that will assist in weight loss, other than possibly contributing to the full feeling they mention by the addition of the fiber (which you also get with metamucil) I would think that fullness would be very slight, though, due to the small amount of fiber involved. I personally love to drink a glass of v-8 juice before a meal, and I feel stuffed very quickly!
  • Thanks, Suzanne. That makes a lot of sense. (I love to read intelligent replies instead of the usual guesswork that I see on most internet forums.
