  • It's crunch time exercisers. The holidays are here, food is plentiful and tempting, and the cold weather makes it easy to skip exercise. We all know that regular exercise not only burns calories but is a great mood lifter when the short days and holiday stress hit. What is your plan for November?   • Ok, here goes!
    I've never joined an exercise challenge before but I know I need to start exercising for my body and my sanity
    I pledge at least 30 minutes of walking a day (and on Mondays and Tuesdays that will be during my student clinical rotations at the hospitals (which means walking ALL the time!) but no other excuses on the other days...) and 4 days a week I will do at least 15 minutes of elliptical machine in addition to walking. My husband wants me to start doing some strength training but I don't know what that means or entails so I will hold off on that for right now.


    November goal: 19 hrs.

  • OK, I'm in and this is also my first time joining an exercise challenge. Because of my age, current health condition and the fact that I haven't been exercising, I'm going to start off slow and will build from here.

    Goal: 600 minutes of walking
    So far: 923 minutes

    Week One

    3 = 20 - My legs are talking to me!

    5 = 30 - You go girl!
    6 = 25 - Huffin and puffin and sweatin!
    Week two
    7 = 25 - On a rainy day! Talk about commitment!

  • I'm really hoping to do Tae-Bo every evening and walk most days! I will be so proud of myself if I do!

  • YES! I need this challenge. I didn't set a goal last time and it showed... So for now (subject to change), my goal is 1800 minutes - an hour a day - of something somewhat strenuous, whether it be walking briskly, yoga, pilates or weight-lifting. I am still trying to start running again, so we'll see if that can come about or not
