  • Quote: Diana, hope you feeling fine today, with your skinny self yeah, we have to keep our mines right in order to be able to remake ourselves like we are doing. So have you thought about when you're going to go into maintenance or at least stop working so hard? I think of the day i won't have to work so hard.
Ona Ha Ha this girl is no where near being skinny. I am going to continue doing what I am doing and see what happens. I am Ok with my eating. I don't feel like I am struggling with the food right now. The hardest time I have had with food was last week when it was DH's Birthday, the Fair, and I went to the Japanese restaurant. It was a struggle for me to eat less at lunch and the other days to try to make up for those days. Also, I was really working out hard. The holidays are coming up so I think it's really important for me to stay focused. This is the time of year where so many people have problems. Also, at Christmas we will probably be going out of town for a week. Last year I took my workouts, but didn't do them. The place we stay at isn't really set up for me to workout. Also, it's in the mountains and the roads are really narrow, so I can't really walk. Again, I feel that I really need to continue to stay focused on what I am doing. Since I have worked out really hard this year, I might take a week off from working out and give my body a rest. I will cross that bridge when I get there. Also, I want to note these points:
~Before I got serious about counting calories, I ate the same type of breakfast I am eating now. I just ate more of it.
~I am happy with my lunch now. It is very satisifying. Before, I ate more fast food. I don't need to go back to that.
~The main things that got me in trouble before (weight gain) was portion control, carbs, starches, sugar, and Chinese Buffets.
~I will always need to focus on portion control
~I do not need to go back to the carbs, starches, sugar because of how they make me feel and because they tend to lead to more cravings. Just a path I do not need to go down.
~Chinese buffets are OK once a month or so as long as I stick with lean protein (not fried) and veggies. Again stay away from the carbs, starches, sugars, and fried food.

Bottom line, I'm staying focused and continuing to do what I am doing.

Ha Ha I didn't mean to write a book. If there is any question, I am staying focused.
  • Down .8 this morning. I put a couple of minutes of actual running in my treadmill today. I haven't been able to truly run more than 8 steps in years. It is a small thing to the avg. healthy person, but to me this is huge.

Kukkie - All that accomplished had to give you lots of motivating serotonins!
Cutie - glad to have you here
Diana - Love those NSV ! Thanks for sharing. They motivate us, too.
Julz - Congrats! That has to feel great.
Coondocks - Isn't it great to find an exercise you enjoy?
Akelly and Vixsin - Way to go!
Aimee - Enjoy your time off.
  • Lottie Congrats on the 2 pounds and your 10 pound overall loss!

Sea Great job on the .8 and running on the treadmill! The running is an awesome NSV!
  • Star - I think they are too afraid that women will revolt against standard sizing. They want to make them happier even if they are confusing. I personally don't care. A size 34 waist should be a 34 waist in all jeans!

Stayed the same as yesterday today 258.8. I got so excited as I weighed that when I went to bed last night, normally I'm less in the morning. oh well, see what tomorrow brings.

Diana - chinese is so my downfall too. I'm off of work today and so far have resisted it. Man I'd love some right now though! lol Guess it's time to get some lunch.
  • Nov. Weigh-In
    11/1 263.8
    11/2 264.8 eeek..TTOM
    3 261.6
    4 264.0 just water...

7 distracted dueing this time by car accident and and husband breaking foot.
    8
    9
    10 261.8

I am back. Got distraced. Huband broke his foot and I have been taking care of him. Then I was in a car accident a few day later... and I took a few days of recovery. Glad to be back in the saddle.
  • Shylah We used to do the Chinese Buffet thing about twice a week. It's very affordable but it's very easy to overeat and gain weight.

Anna It sounds like you have had a rough week. Did you get hurt in the car wreck? I hope things settle down a bit for you.
  • What ridiculous start to the day. I woke up early, took my time getting dressed and ready for the day, made Jack his breakfast. Lucky enough to have Grandma close to watch him in the mornings so I can pick up my cousin whos been so incredibly generous enough to watch him while I try to find a temporary daycare (such a toss up on that one, don't know if it's worth it if we are moving in possibly 2 months??)
STUCK in traffic, what should have taken me 15 minutes, took me 30 . . . so I'm now at work trying to figure out what to have for lunch that is semi decent since i had no time to grab the lunch I prepped and put in the finishing touches.
Blah - I'll figure something out, there's always booster juice if I feel so inclined :/
Anywho . . . 177.2 WOOT WOOT! down 1.8 durring what seems to be the most stereotypical TOM i've ever had. Mood swings, cravings, shananigans all around.

Im going to catch up on this thread over my lunch since I of course grabbed Jack's gym bag and not mine . . . I can't do anything but laugh at that right now
    BBL for personals
  • Coondocks Great job on the 1.8! Ha Ha you made me laugh with all the shananigans going on.
  • I am really afraid of daily weighing because then I'll get emotional and frustrated, but I decided in November, to give it a try, so here we go!

  • Coon: TOM's up to his shananigans here too! Great loss though! Way to stick it to him!!!! Best of luck in your daycare search (even if it's only temp)

Fit4Lyfe: We are glad you're here! Good job on committing to daily weighing. I was always afraid of it too but find it is really helpful on this journey. Weighing daily has helped me to understand the fluctuations in my weight and has REALLY helped me not to be defined by the number on the scale. Sure, if I gain, I'm a little upset, but I usually can come up with the reason for the gain (not enough sleep, not enough water, too much sodium, etc) I wish you the best. You will find the right formula that works for you.

Diana: OMG CHINESE BUFFET!!!!! I have a wonderful buffet a couple miles from my house and I will NOT allow myself to go in there. I dont trust myself at all! Who knows what the future holds, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to go into a buffet restaurant again. Although secretly, I don't think it would be all that bad if I never went to one of those places again. Way to go that you can enjoy it once a month!

Sea: Great loss today! Also GREAT GREAT GREAT job on the running! I also have recently got back into running and LOVE it! It's not easy but that feeling of accomplishment is addicting, isn't it? I hope you stick with it! Great job!

Shylah: Good job on staying the same and being consistent! Sending you positive vibes for a loss tomorrow! :
  • Down .4 today to 185.6! I promised myself that I wouldn't consider myself officially at 185 until it's 185.0! So only .6 to go, but I have a feeling my body will revolt and take my 2-3 days to get there

Starbrite: YAY for the sleep! I just woke up myself..slept 12 hours. Don't know why because I haven't been doing anything strenuous, but I let my body tell me what to do when I have time to sleep in

Mystic: Nice job on the -1 lb!! We like you checking in!

    Ona: Whoooshh! Great job!

Kristi: Congrats on 220's!!! You worked hard for it!

Diana: Holy cow woman, you are at 183! Amazing..very proud of you!

Star: I agree about the sizing!! I am now in pants ranging from 16-20...very odd!

lottie: Great job on the -2!!

    Vixsin: Nice loss!!!

Sea: Awesome accomplishment on the treadmill!! Once you start running, little by little, your endurance grows and you go further and further each time. It's so much fun!

Anna: Sorry to hear about your horrible week--hope things get better and you heal fast from it all

    Coon: Yay for 177!!!

Fit: Glad to see you here giving it a try! Daily weighing does bring out a lot of emotions, but it helps me to see what worked each day so I know where to tweak and keep losing~
  • Shylah, you've done a great job while you were sick to not have gain

Anna, glad you and DH are ok you did great with your weight during all that stress.

Coon, congrats on the 1.8 you are too funny

    Fit4Life

StarGetFit,great job on the 1 lb!! pants fitting

    Eclipse,congrats on the .6!

Vixsin, give it all you've got!! lose as much as you can, then when the holidays come, you'll have a little wiggle room for some treats

    Lottie,fantastic job 2 lbs!!!

Diana, yeah,I'll never look at carbs, starches and sugar the same way either, considering that's all i use to eat :

Sea,great job on the .8!! for the running

akelly,at the rate you're losing, you'll be there very soon. you can go ahead and claim that 185.0 my friend

MamaP,thinking of you, hope you had a nice time

Paris and Love, thinking of you guys, hope all is well

I'm back but buried in work and other things. The ball was cool. I didn't dance, pretty much the only people that danced were the young drunk Marines. Unfortunately I didn't find me a man - ha ha. I did meet my son-in-law's Master Sgt who is gorgeous. Talked to him for about 2 minutes. Would have loved to have had an excuse to take his picture but I think that would have been very "stalkerish" - ha ha. The overall ceremonial part of the ball was interesting. We didn't stay very late because the day care that was provided ended at 10:00 pm so we had to pick up the boys. Loved spending time with the babies. Here's a couple of pictures of me at the ball. My daughter did my hair and make-up.

  • Fit4Lyfe Hi and Welcome!

Akelly Great job on your .4! Ha Ha I opened the forum yesterday and saw one of my posts with my profile, ticker, etc. and I couldn't believe that a one is the first number of my weight. It's absolutely amazing! I still can't believe it.

Kris Hi & Welcome back! Aww, look at you! You are very pretty. I love the dress on you and you look very happy.
