Setting mini goals was for me never really motivating, as I used to forget to note them down or after achieving them, lost the achievement shortly after again.
So, now I try to stick to keep up with setting and reaching my in-between-goals.
I am now 70 days on my diet and lost so far my first stone
This is kind of a little sensation, because I was never able to stick to a diet that long!
I also found that my blood pressure, which used to be in the pre-hypertensional stage, is now down to 99/64, and I am feeling great.
So, the next mini goal is..who would think?... the next stone
