  • I remember reading about the joys of concave armpits back at the beginning of my journey wondering what you crazy women were talking about!

Now though...I have them! And beause of you "crazy women" I know how to deal with them.

But here's what I want to know.

Did I have them when I was thin before but didn't know any different? Or are they an affliction of the formerly obese?
  • I don't remember if I had them before I was obese...that was a long time ago.

I do have them now if I put my hands on my hips. Not otherwise, though.

Do smaller people have them all the time? That's how long it's been since I've been small - I really don't know the answer to that question. Lol!
  • my youngest daughter thats a size 2/3 and 5'4" and 13 has em. She has always been slinder too.

I have em too but they look like my 82 year old grannys....all wrinkly.lol
  • Ok, I don't remember them, but I've never been this thin...

HOW DO I SHAVE?? I must have missed this conversation when I first joined! I keep missing BIG spots! DH keeps making fun of me!

    Help!
  • LOL! We have Mandalinn to thank for this!!

You hold you hand over your head like you are about to lift weights for triceps or stretch...really like you are trying to scratch as far down your back as you can. This seems to flatten that space out.
  • It IS a trifle awkward, isn't it?!
  • Ok, thanks! I'll try that tomorrow. It's a problem!! But better than the alternative!
  • I've switched to waxing. Hurts like ****, but I get good mileage out of it!
  • Oh my gosh, THANK YOU for this post! I have been having the hardest time shaving my underarms lately because of this new concave-ness! Like Cherbear, I keep missing spots. I'll have to try that arm position tomorrow morning.

Yet another one of the many things you never think about when it comes to losing weight.
  • Mine still aren't concave. I got collar bones early but apparently I still hang on to arm pit fat.
  • That is so weird...before this forum I had never realized that I had concave under pits. You'd think I would have noticed since I shave them regularly.
  • thank you so much ladies! I didnt know why I had concave arm pits, glad to know I am not the only one with shaving problems.
But I still have a question: are concave armpits nice/good?
  • oh! and also, its more noticiable in one armpit....
  • Quote: thank you so much ladies! I didnt know why I had concave arm pits, glad to know I am not the only one with shaving problems.

I think it might have to do with defined shoulder muscles? Not really sure. If that's the case then they're awesome!
  • Ok, at least I know I am not losing my mind now....I noticed this a month or so ago and just figured I am just paying more detailed attention to my body now.

That "stance" is how I figured out how to shave (bend your arm at the elbow and put your hand behind your head). It was getting really aggervating missing spots all the time!
