New and looking for support to push me to my goal.

  • Hi, my name is Kelly and I am 250lbs and 5'9". My goal is to lose 50 lbs by May 2011. I have always been overweight and am not looking to be stick skinny, but would love to have more energy to chase my kids around next summer. I am not going to start any fad diet or count my calories because I know if I don't stick to something like that I will lose hope. My plan is to cut my portions down and get off my rear and exercise more. Maybe there are more people out there who feel this way too and we can offer support to each other. Thanks!!

    I am new to this site as well. Like you I am not following a weight loss plan. I have made changes with the types of food I eat and portion size. Exercise has been key to my weight loss. It was a slow start, but I exercise 6 days per week now and actually look forward to it. I walk during my lunch hour, and in the evenings I work out using a collection of Leslie Sansone, Walk Away the Pounds, DVDs. I also do yoga/pilates twice a week and some strength training. This has worked for me and I am noticing a lot of changes in both the way I look and feel. You just have to find something that works for you, and your lifestyle, and stick to it.
