New Slogan for Pretzel Crisps is causing controversy.

  • Apparently Pretzel Crisps has a new ad up in NYC and people aren't taking too kindly to it.

The slogan "You can never be too thin" isn't something most people agree with, and for good reason. People are already taping pictures of Nicole Ritchie and other sometimes dangerously thin celebrities to the sign. I honestly think it is the dumbest method of advertising a product I've seen in a while.

    How do you chicks feel?
  • I think some ad guy was not well plugged in to the public's concern with the anorexia seen on many models and celebs. The article says they are taking the billboards down. Appropriate response; the sooner the better.
  • Definitely a poor choice of words. I think it was clear what they were trying to do, though.. But the sad thing is there are so many people out there that would read into it the wrong way.
  • I just looked at the ingredient list in some of the flavors...some have MSG in them, so their slogan should be "you can never be too brain damaged"...
  • I agree, poor choice of words.

  • I don't think they had bad intentions,
but it's definitely something to change.
If I were them I'd get their ads taken down ASAP.

  • Are they getting marketing advice from Wallis Simpson or something?
  • Hopefully nobody will be stupid enough to take these words to heart.
  • I love how it's the slogan for a product that's not even all that healthy for you!
